Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall experience This often happens and it did again. I am Texas State Employee and request we are state tax exempt. I confirmed this when I made the reservation, turned in the state tax exemption form at registration, but then after I left, they again charged me state tax. I called that night I left and the clerk said she would notify the manager to have the fees removed, but had to call again the next day and they had no notice of the change. they did remove the taxes, but it is very inconvenient to have to do this almost everytime I stay in any Holliday Inn Express. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Dire need of a renovation! This hotel is long overdue for a renovation. The corridors smell and the walls have scuff marks in the room. The bath fixtures are old and leak. The TV remote needed new batteries and the rooms are very noisy due to the close distance to the expressway. The bottom line is that this hotel falls below the standards of most Holiday Inn Expresses and I was completely disappointed. This being said, the check in process was good and the staff was very polite. November 9, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A comfortable getaway We stayed here for our 5th wedding anniversary and had a great time. it's in the middle of where we wanted to go. The room was great but a big odd. We got a jacuzzi room and the tub was right next to the king size bed. Watching Cops on TV while sitting in the tub was awesome. November 5, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Avoid The outside of the building is pretty nice. Makes one think it is a clean up dated hotel. The lobby is moderately clean and presentable. The rooms are another story. Smelly, outdated and not clean. I had to change rooms because of the smell and the second room was not much better. Too late in the night to find another hotel; of any brand. The carpets were lumpy and dirty. I do not think they bothered to remove the old carpet (or left what would not come up in one pull) as they laid the "new" one down. I think the "new" was from the mid to early 1980s. The sheets were less than 180 thread count. Rough and scratchy. I itched the entire day, the next morning. Lampshades were dirty and dented, curtain blinds were plastic and cut. The breakfast in the morning was poor and honestly, I was somewhat fearful to eat there. Just grabbed some fruit…coffee pot was empty. This hotel is in serious need of renovation. It is a poor example of the chain. November 2, 2014
