Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad reservation system & staff I reserved a two room suite a month before my stay. I called the hotel a day before to confirm my reservation. I was informed that I did not have a two room suite reservation. I agreed to pay the higher rate, but requested a top floor room. I was informed by the staff that this would not be a problem. When we arrived the next day to check in, they had me booked in to a room on the second floor. They gave me $20 off my rate for this problem. I asked the staff when was the top floor room taken and she said the people had been there since the previous week. The hotel staff i had spoken to on the phone the previous day, knew that the room was already taken and should have informed me. Our room was clean and bedding was nice, It was very noisy a couple of nights due to the people above us. The hotel is a great place to stay, but don't use the online reservation system. i would contact the hotel directly for our reservation. I have stayed there a lot in the past , but don't know if i will return. November 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice retreat in Mesquite First it was a hectic weekend in Mesquite. I tried checking in early to prepare for the day. Amanda at the front desk went over and above to help us accommodate our needs.She got us in the first available room so we had time to shower and change with time to make our appointment. She made our stay stress free. The room was large and clean and the beds were perfect.The bathroom and shower large and wonderful. The one and only negative was the problems with the WI-FI.Had trouble connecting,cut off and more troubles connecting Other than this minor problem (major for others,I would assume) this was the nicest place in Mesquite. The room for breakfast was spacious and the selection was plentiful.The young lady looking over this kept things stocked and cleaned up and had a smile on her face. Pool looked great but this time we had no time. This will be our stop when in Mesquite. November 5, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to par with other Holiday Inns This holiday inn was not up to the standard of the other Holiday Inns we stayed in during our week long vacation to San Diego. The bathroom door looked like it didn't belong, the bathroom was not really clean, around the tub there was caulking all over the side of the tub. The taps in the bathroom were backward with the hot on the right and cold on the left, which could be an issue if you had children with you. By the desk the outlet did not have a cover. The room looks out over the roof with all the air conditioners, so not a view to enjoy. Did not feel that the staff was all that friendly as they were at other places. The bed was comfortable and the hotel it self is a beautiful building, the free breakfast was good, the lobby look very nice. October 30, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Uncomfortable bed and poor service The mattress was terrible. It was hard and felt like there was a board under me. The pillows were lumpy. The service was poor. At check-in I had to get her attention before she looked up. There was no recognition that I was a reward member. On Sunday night I was looking for a bottle of water. Vending machines on 2 floors were not working. I went to the front desk, the lady did not look up. I asked if there was any water on the first floor, without looking up from the computer screen she pointed and said "Over there". The lady on the day shift was a little friendlier but not much. I was very, very disappointed with this Holiday Inn Express. I have always thought that if I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express I would receive good service and good accomodations. Not so here. I doubt I will stay here again. October 17, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Oasis in the desert We have been staying at this location for several years. Holiday Inn Express took it over in 2012. Now it's better than ever. Stayed here in Sept, 2013 on way to LA. Was provided with my requested amenities based on previous stays based on my familiarity of the property. Was not disappointed this time out. Perfect in all respects, except I wish they had hash browns on breakfast menu, otherwise all categories of service rated five plus. Happy Trails. September 23, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Head and Shoulders Above I admit that I am cheap and want more than I probably deserve for the money paid. I really have a problem paying three to four times per day for a hotel than I pay for my mortgage and I am frequently disappointed. This hotel however was not only a reasonable price, but was also an exceptional hotel. I actually came upon it last year before it became a Holiday Inn Express and was name the Falcon Ridge Hotel. I had concerns that it may have gone downhill after going corporate but my concerns were unfounded as I found the conditions to be perfect once again. This was one of many stops on a 4500 mile road trip and was hands down the nicest hotel we stayed in and incidentally was the most reasonably priced as well. Everything was clean and in good repair and unlike most hotels it was maintained meticulously. If I could guarantee that all Holiday Inn expresses would be as this one was I would not stay anywhere else when travelling. IHG should be using this example as a training opportunity for their Hotel managers because they certainly do it right. Finally, when you are done with your nights sleep and ready to move on, they offer a great breakfast to send you off fat and happy. I would (and have) recommend this hotel to anyone. Nuff Said? The rooms must not be insulated very well because it sounded like a marathon above us. All night we can hear someone pacing back and forth. I would have mentioned it to the person who checked us out, but they didn't even ask us how our stay was. Breakfast was excellent, but for the price we paid I would have hoped to have a better experience. August 19, 2013

The last time we stayed, it was in the fall, so we didn't turn it on. This time in the summer, every time it kicked on at night, it woke us up. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very impressively furnished Holiday Inn. The moment you drive into the large parking lot you are presented with plenty of choices for parking. This is good for my husband since we drive a Corvette and he is particular about where we park. No need to worry about sprinklers going on in the nice end spot he selected with the bonus of being able to see the car from the room. From my perspective the lobby area was very impressively furnished and the staff person was welcoming. She recommended a wonderful Mexican Restaurant within walking distance from the hotel which we dined at and loved. I mentioned that I did not have a priority club card, only the original printout when I joined years ago. She observed that I had all my travel papers in a 3-ring binder. When we came down to go to dinner she had made me a bright orange card stock page with a priority club card taped to it to put in my 3-ring binder. No problem now finding my card in the binder. She definitely went the extra mile to do that for me and it showed that she really knows the meaning of great customer service. Definitely would recommend this property to other travelers. It is up on the hill away from the casino area which was perfect for us because we were looking for a quiet, relaxing evening and a good night's rest. August 14, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bad lobby & bad elevator The overall experience was generally good. The lobby configuration is terrible. There is gridlock trying to get past the front desk. Customers at the desk along with a seating area directly across from the desk make it impossible to get by conveniently. There is only one elevator and you can be guaranteed a long wait and the first floor invites another gridlock. August 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT STAY ! I have been staying at Holiday Inns for 45 years. I used to work at one for two years in 1968 when I was in high school. We stayed here 8-2-13. I always look for a Holiday Inn when traveling because I know what I will get - a good room, good breakfast & a good value (not the cheapest, but good value). Except this time. I got an AWESOME room & a very special experience! We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a suite & the room was terrific - jacuzzi tub, balcony to watch the sunset, The check in was super fast and extremely friendly. They gave special recognition of platinum membership. The entire staff was friendly and made our stay a night to remember. We will definitely stay again when in this area (maybe a year or so). I don't usually write reviews, but the facility was great and the people went out of their way to make it memorable!, I would highly recommend this location.. August 8, 2013
