Upon checking in for my 6 day stay, they tried to charge me for 2 rooms. They said I booked both rooms which wasn't the case. Rooms were small and overpriced for the location. Pool and Hot tub were closed. I will rethink where we book for next year. Nothing Special about this HIExpress. C- at best.

The staff at this Holiday Inn Express is consistently the most accommodating and genuinely friendly staff at any overnight lodging facility I have ever encountered. Every single person is always putting the best foot forward, no matter what the situation. I look forward to staying here every time I am in this location.

Once again the P.C Smoking Police have imposed their will on another private business. When I reserved my room online it was for a smoking room. When I arrived the clerk told me she was not allowed to rent the smoking rooms because corporate was forcing them to go to all non smoking on Dec first. After some arguing and a call to the manager. I was able to get the room I reserved online.

The hotel was easily located. The women at the front desk were very friendly, as were the people working in the breakfast area. Our only complaint was the plastic covers on the matresses were noisy when someone turned over, and we felt sweaty. Otherwise the beds were very comfortable. Good TV. Clean room and bathroom.

It's been quite a few months ago that I stayed here (on business), and I don't remember anything negative, so it must have been a good and typical HI Express. If there had been something wrong- it would have stayed in my memory. The thing I remember about this stay was how kind and helpful the desk staff were the morning that I checked out. I thought I'd locked my keys in my car. Mexia is a small town- it's not like there's a dozen pop-a-lock guys in the yellow pages. Staff were great, brainstormed solutions, and had one of the local tow truck guys ready to come to my rescue when I found my keys right there in my purse.
