I am a frequent traveler, both nationally and internationally.
I stayed in this hotel for an overnight during a brief layover sandwiched in the middle of a six-week trip from Haiti to Mexico to Buenos Aires and was looking forward to a comfortable bed and a good night's sleep. My plane didn't arrive until after midnight and by the time I got to the hotel it was after 1 am. The guy at the desk was very cool and agreed to let me have a late check out and gave me a room on the second floor at the end of the hall. Room 218.
The a/c was on and the room had a weird smell which I thought was a bummer but I was so tired I fell into bed. Unfortunately the smell got more and more intense and actually prevented me from falling asleep. This stench seemed to be from mildew, rot or some other damage. It was both in the a/c and deep in the carpet.. it was really sickening and ruined my stay.
I did have have a great stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Phoenix on a layover a couple weeks prior - the bed was super comfortable and all was good. This one in Miami I will never stay at again nor recommend.
I did mention this to the manager in the morning.

Nothing to say. Like the hospitality. Wish breakfast would change to something different weekly.
