Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Here to ski I chose this hotel for a group of 6 of us who are on a ski trip here from the United Kingdom. The hotel we have used before is no longer an IHG hotel so I picked this one from the online reviews and for the ease of getting to the ski slopes from here. I am a Platinum member, and at check in I was greeted as such. The guy on the desk was really friendly and quickly sorted the 4 rooms for us. He offered some advice about ski rental and gave us discount vouchers. After 24 hours of traveling from the UK we were keen to get checked in quickly, get out for dinner and then get to bed. Check in could not have been quicker and the rooms were also all close to each other, which was helpful. I recommend the hotel and will certainly use it again if we come back to Utah to ski again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice hotel with great staff Arrived and was promptly greeted by check-in. They went out of their way to accommodate our request for 2Q beds instead of the King room with pull out. Room was very clean and nice. Very large for a hotel room. Bathroom was also clean. Location was in a decent area. I rated "Sleep Quality" as average due to the bed comfort. We prefer a plush/soft bed and these were a little more on the firm side. We did a little more tossing and turning than normal. Wouldn't it be nice if hotels allowed you to book rooms by bed type #plush, medium, firm# like you can for bed size and smoking/non-smoking. When you book, you select the bed type that fits you best. That would allow hotels to better match guest needs - assuming the bed type was available at booking. Just might be a way to differentiate a brand. Data could help hotels determine how many of each type to buy to maximize the guest experience. Overall pleased but will likely try a different hotel for a more comfortable sleep. If you're a medium or firm preference person, this hotel will be fine for you. January 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great choice for skiing Stayed to ski 2 days at Alta. Quiet hotel, close to several choices for restaurants, the ski bus is 1/2 block away - can't be beat. Bed was comfortable, great breakfast to fill up on before skiing. I will definitely stay here next year when I come to Utah to ski! January 18, 2016

Over the last several years of traveling we have come to appreciate the predictable, and hence, reliable caliber of the experience we will have at most HI-Express locations. So far our experience in Nebraska, Kansas, New Mexico, Utah, Idaho and other places has proven correct. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 24 Hour Ski Trip I planned a 24 hour layover to get some skiing in at Snowbird/Alta while on my way form Vermont to Austin, TX. Things went a little sideways at the rental counter when I realised my drivers license expired and no on was going to give me a car. I was able to figure out that the light rail comes close to the HIX in Midvale so I got on that and then took a $5 uber from the station to the hotel. After the long day of travel I wanted a simple and uneventful check-in. No extra questions, no extra forms. It was about 2am eastern time when I checked in, I just wanted to get to bed. And that is exactly what happened. I walked in ,got my key and quickly was in my room. The desk manager also helped me sort out plans to get to the mountain and get ski rentals. In the morning Terry was also very helpful and had a transit map available for me and a late checkout option. When I got back in the afternoon Terry had spoken to Rich about my checkout and everything went super smoothly. Often in hotels that transition never happens and the next desk manager doesn't have the information they need. The HIX team in Midvale was a smooth operating machine. Thanks! January 3, 2016
