Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Staff needs a course how to handle guests The hotel itself is a nice place. Rooms are comfortable with good beds. The staff appears very unmotivated. They do what they have to do, nothing more. Housekeeping is terrible. We stayed four nights; bad cleaning, pillow on the floor, sunflowerpitts in the bathroom although we did not eat them (!), one day not enough big towels, other day not enough small towels and so on and so on. Furthermore the houskeeping does not speak one word of English. For the money I paid I expect a good hotel. This looked like a cheap motel. August 26, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It had everything we were looking for. When traveling my family has specific criteria we look for in a hotel. Whirlpool, indoor swimming pool, king rooms, hot breakfast. This Holiday Inn Express offered us everything we were looking for and was probably the best stay we've had in the last 12 months. It is likely that we will look into other Holiday Inn Expresses as we continue to take mini vacations throughout the upcoming year. August 20, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel/Great prices Stayed here for a yearly trip that we take with friends, this hotel is convientely located on I-495 ( only about 10 minutes from I-90 interchange. The price was great and the hotel was fresh and clean looking. Didn't eat breakfast the morning that we stayed but saw the layout and it wsa looking good as always with Holiday Inn. Holiday inn is my first choice when going on vacation. August 20, 2014

The newly renovated hotel is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near Southwick's Zoo. The kids loved the pool and jacuzzi. Our room had a king bed plus sleeper sofa and mini fridge. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again! August 17, 2014

The bed and room were comfortable and pleasant. We have stayed at other Holiday Inn Express locations and would likely select another. Upon arrival, the receptionist asked me for my credit card before she asked my name! (Maybe it was just a routine, she got out of order). We especially liked the recommended local restaurant list, available at the front desk. August 15, 2014

Many of us were there for a family wedding, and the hotel did a good job trying to group our rooms together. The front desk was really helpful on my first night when I was trying to figure out how to get to downtown Boston, guiding me through train options and maps. I liked the modern combined lobby / lounge / breakfast area that we could use to relax any time of day. And the rooms were very clean and comfortable too. Thank you! August 14, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by my upstairs neighbor was clunking around all night Room was clean and fairly comfortable. Giant TV, all low def programming. THIN walls and ceilings so I could hear my upstairs neighbor clunking around all night, and my next door neighbor sliding hangers around in their closet at 5 AM. To their credit, staff was very friendly Was not pleased to come back to the hotel at 10:30 PM and not be able to get into the hotel or my room, until going to the front desk and having them have to "fix" my key card. I think someone accidentally checked me out of the hotel and deactivated it. August 10, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel and staff - poor noise quality I stayed here the weekend of my wedding (as well as most of my guests) and the staff graciously upgraded me to a suite. However, this suite was right across from the elevator! All I heard was traffic and noise from people calling and entering/exiting the elevator. The night I stayed another wedding party decided to descend on the floor around midnight with the noise level of a club. Holding the elevator, screaming at each other down the hall. When they entered their rooms, they were on either side of me and the walls were too thin to muffle the sound. I'm pleased that the front desk and security responded quickly and with empathy to what was a total freak out on my part - imagine the anxiety of not getting sleep the night before your wedding because of a party next door! However, I am truly surprised that I was put in a room right across the elevator and in between two rooms the same party was occupying. My recommendation would be to double check where your room is if you require a good night's sleep. August 8, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by very disappointing stay When I checked in on Friday afternoon there was a very long wait at check-in. I had to wait about 20 minutes. Only 1 person was working the desk. About 12 people were on line. Half of them had to get on line because their keys wouldn't work. Then when the phone rings 3 different times the person working the desk had to answer. It was like 3 people cut the line. Sunday's morning breakfast was horrible. Breakfast started at 7am. At 7:15 there were no more eggs left. I asked the man that was working the breakfast if more eggs were coming out. He said that they would be out in a minute. Fifteen minutes later another person asked if there were more eggs. He again said any minute. Ten minutes after that we had to leave for my daughter's softball tournament. No eggs in over 30 minutes. Really. I am a platinum rewards member and have stayed with Holiday Inn for years. I will never come back to this location. Very disappointed. BRIAN D. August 6, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rude staff, poor toiletries, questionable kitchen sanitation I know that something like an early check-in around noon usually is a special request. And after you've been working since 6AM PT and arrive at a hotel after a red eye flight at 11:45AM ET, you're tired and probably unable to function. But when you get the front desk attendant that says, "Are you trying to check in? Because there is nothing at all available," you start to wonder about what could possibly be going on at this hotel. It wasn't the fact that there were not rooms available yet. It's the tone and the fact that not a single effort could be made, pick up a radio, talk to housekeeping, see if anyone checked out at 8AM in a hotel in a business park. No. Just a "you can call to see if your room is ready around 4." Forgive me, but as a Platinum member of IHG, I've stayed at a LOT of IHG hotels, some of varying quality and age, but never with this type of staff. It must be endemic to the group too. When finally checking in later that day after sleeping in my rental car near my business meeting, the desk did not acknowledge my IHG status, offer any sort of points or bottle of water, or anything. TSA took my bottle of shaving cream, so I asked the front desk for some. Usually if this happens, we get this nice little sample size like they sell at Target. This time, I got a catsup packet of shaving cream. Seriously. Check the picture. It didn't even have enough to cover half my face. I might as well have shaved with the hotel soap. I know it was a complementary replacement, but this was no better than nothing at all. Then, getting up the next morning, the food delivery must have arrived a few hours before as empty boxes piled up in the hallway. Next to the empty boxes was the yogurt that should have been refrigerated. Yep, decided eating here was not in my future if you treat dairy products in this way. Do not recommend. Will not be back. Not enough staff in the evening to cover check ins and nobody there to make breakfast in the morning. The room was very sub par - just barely acceptable and not at all worth what we paid for it. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by COST & NOISE At check-out we were charged two different prices for the room - the quoted price for the last two nights, and a higher price for the first night. The explanation was that we had made two different reservations on-line. The fact is that we made one reservation via phone. We should have been charged only the price that was quoted at the time of that call. A group at the hotel was so noisy that a guest (not part of our group) called the desk. When the desk clerk couldn't get the group to quiet down, she ended up calling the police. The noisy group went to their rooms, but were still very loud. At breakfast on Sunday morning I overheard someone staying at your hotel say that she had gotten hardly any sleep because of the noise next door. I don't know if she had called the desk or not. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Refreshing Change I visit family near Milford about 2-3 times/year, sometimes with my partner and our dog. This was the first time staying at the Holiday Inn Express, and based on other reviews I thought we'd try it out. It was great! The hotel is located up a separated driveway vs. an adjoining parking lot with another business, so it was automatically more calm and less insane. Our primary concerns were cleanliness, non-smoking smell in the room, and safety/peace. I have found other hotels in the area to be seriously lacking in all of those things, and they charge about $10 less per night! This was so worth the slight price increase. The rooms were very clean, but miraculously didn't smell like cleaning chemicals or perfumey products. Hooray! The staff were so helpful and professional. There was no drinking/party atmosphere which often leads to a lot of noise and general problems. They take their non-smoking policy seriously. The breakfast was great and they have coffee available all day. It was an easy and relaxing stay. This will be the go-to hotel in the future. July 22, 2014
