Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clara1 Impressed by the standard we found.
Having made this booking expecting (to be honest) something 'standard and a bit mediocre' we were very pleasantly surprised by the high standard and comfortable room we found. As two couples travelling together it was a bonus to find we had rooms with an adjoining door.
Would not hesitate to use HIE again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JacknGill Excellent Quality Bed
Good hotel which unusually for HIE does its own food Monday to Thursday which is cheaper and quicker than going to the harvester next door. Also give you a free beer / glass of wine if you are a priority club member which was a nice touch and free WiFi.
The bed was the largest and most comfortable I have had in any hotel, had it all to myself, at least I think I did, mind you the thing was the size of a tennis court

the hotel was easy to find with good access, comfortable clean room very quiet, slightly more choice on the hot breakfast menu would have been nice but thats not to say the breakfast was not sufficient, overall I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fabgav Leisure Stay, Not as Good as Expected!
Typical Holiday Inn, but larger than most. Suffers from older look, needs updating with more comfy seating in lounge / bar areas. Breakfast menu was restricted than expected on hot food. Climate control was poor as place was too cool so felt cold both in rooms and in reception, lounge and bar / breakfast areas. Had to ask for it to be raised at breakfast! Staff service was good though and attentive when needed. Shop services and range of snacks was too limited. No sky TV at all (even in lounges) which is cheap really and poor service to those staying in. Location was useful though for the area I was visiting, but access to the hotel was not easy once located. Overall and average experience for this chain.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PaulTheSinger Comfortable quite hotel with excellent service
Excellent quite location and close to amenities and central Milton Keynes. On arrival, reception personal very attentive and answered all question I asked with a friendly smile. Every where looked clean and tidy including importantly the room. Room had what is needed for a short stay, comfortable bed and pillows, tea/coffee and large television. Breakfast was as described but found overall to be limited in selection but enough to fill that morning gap. Restaurant staff were very good in keeping tables and serving area clean and tidy throughout the breakfast period so well done to them since I appreciate it is hard work.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Monkey59 Good value for money.
Having stayed on previous occasions, the Holiday Inn express is still good value for money and is in an ideal location a short distance away from the main shopping centre of Milton Keynes. The facilities in the rooms are ok, the air conditioning was noisy during the night. The room smelt of musty / smoke when we arrived, this cleared after a while. The breakfast sittings are still a bit back to front, the toaster is in the opposite corner to where you get the scrambled eggs / beans/ sausages. The toasters only cooked one side and this took two attempts - four cycles to cook one piece of toast. The sausages were sitting in a lot of oil in the hot tray and did not look all that appetising. There were no trays to carry the food on and the general area is cramped when the hotel is full - (weekends when we have stayed there). Saying all that, we would still use the holiday inn express.

We stay here quite often, clean, comfortable, lots of extra tea and coffee available to help yourself to in reception. Staff pleasant and polite. Breakfast choice plentiful, although croissants are cold, warm ones would be much nicer. Hot chocolate is lovely. We will be back

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Markeyboy Par for the course. . . .
For the cost of room, this hotel should have more, it doesnt even have sky.
That said, the staff are always helpful and friendly, the rooms are standard rooms but they do have wi-fi which is a bonus.
There is a beefeater family restaurant on the car park, but if you need something more haute cuisine, i heartily reccomend you take the 10 minute wlk into MK old village and head to the Swan- fantastic!
Very convenient for the M1 and local golf courses. Its infinately better to stay here if your on the M1 than any of the serrvice station based places but IHG, you do need to look at your pricing strategy.

This is by far the worst wi-fi experience I've ever had at any hotel. Excuses ranged from number of users to location I wa in in the hotel. If number of users is an issue why allow people to log on up to 2 devices. Fundamentally your wifi is not fit for purpose and the 3G connection intermittent
Also showing sky sports in the bar would be good, given the lack of other facilities in the area

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Woj55 Good for the Business Traveller
OK for ther business traveller or a 1 night stay. Need a car to get into MK or a Taxi. Harvester next door to eat, a garage across the road (dual carriageway) for ATM + any extras required but a very nice Pub 10 mins walk away in MK Village.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by BtnBob Overall okay but not exceptional
The room was comfortable although quite sparsely equipped.
The bathroom was clean and had a good shower.
The internet service was so bad as to be unuseable, taking about fifteen minutes to sign on. The only thing I managed to do with it was to sign off !
Breakfast is okay but I don't understand why the trays have been removed. Getting a couple of slices of toast, a yoghurt, a cup of coffee and a glass of juice took three trips between the serving area and my table.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BadDog Beaten by Beans
This hotel situated just a few miles from the center of Milton Keynes is ideal for business users on a budget. The staff are always friendly, the rooms clean and tidy with hot drink facilities in all.
The restaurant offers a small but tasty selection freshly cooked or for a more comprehensive menu you can always use the Harvester pub next door.
Breakfast choice is not as comprehensive as it's bigger brother but is more than ample to fuel the body until lunchtime. My only criticism of this hotel and even then I am just being picky, is that they use a cheap brand of beans for breakfast (see I told you I was being picky)!
You will be hard pressed to find an alternative venue that offers friendliness, comfort and value for money, I highly recommend this hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Molerat Enormous bed and spacious room
A very pleasant stay in a bright, airy, clean room with a huge double bed. Staff helpful and friendly. Room was quiet and well equipped although there was no bath, only a shower. Breakfast choice was good although, as stated at the time of booking, there are only 3 hot options - scrambled eggs, baked beans or sausages - and the buffet area and seating area are both very small so it took some time to serve ourselves and finding an empty table was difficult. There is a Harvester pub/restaurant opposite the hotel but I would not recommend this although it is the nearest option, possibly the only one within walking distance. The staff were unhelpful, the place was crowded with nowhere to sit and the food was awful - our order arrived burnt!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by DebbAl Comfortable and good value.
This was a comfortable stay in a Holiday Inn Express and at a good price.
The room was nice, big and clean, though lacking towels. We should have asked for more but never did, so this was our error.
The bar staff were very welcoming and helpful. However, the restaurant staff looked a little disinterested at breakfast time.
The breakfast was really nice, but not much variety, bacon would be a nice change.
This wasn't as good an experience as other Holiday Inn Express.
