Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Cleanliness of the room..good mattress. WE enjoy staying at the Holiday Inn Express because it is close to Orchestra Hall, Nicollet Ave. where many of the shops are located. Good restaurants near by, and a ground level secure parking lot. It is a smaller hotel, which we like. July 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great experience with staff & room I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for 2 nights for business and my experience was great. Staff was very helpful with early check-in as well as for coordinating a taxi for a 4:30 am airport trip (and the taxi was on-time and ready to go). My room was large, clean, & comfortable. The only comment I would make is that, this location was good for business purposes as it's close to downtown. I, personally, didn't have any issues with it - I found that it was about 10 minutes to walk to some enjoyable dinner spots and about 20-30 minutes walk to get into the city night life, but it may be a little far if you're traveling with children or a large group. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impeccable staff service This Holiday Inn Express location is top notch !! The managers and their staff truly understand the meaning of customer service. It's also in a great location too, who could ask for anything more. Sincerely, Loyal Guest . July 29, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good location, but... I've stayed at this property a few times, and I always find the main day/evening crew to be generally rude and snarky. The late night guys seem to be great - all business, professional and accommodating. There is another gentleman who seems to keep an eye on the place, water the plants, etc. He's great, too. The last straw came when the staff cancelled one of my party's reservation for no reason. It wasn't the end of the world, but the way they handled it was unprofessional and added to the inconvenience. The parking situation is tight and challenging - very small lot and you have to use an intercom to get in and out - a fairly minor inconvenience. This property is in easy walking distance to lots of restaurants and other entertainment, and downtown Minneapolis has a lot going on. July 28, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by So- So The front desk staff was great and accommodating. I was able to check in early (room was ready) and I was able to get late check out. The Breakfast area was semi-clean and the staff was rude when it came time to closing. Guests were still coming in for breakfast and the pancake machine ran out. When a little girl asked if there was more, the kitchen woman was mean and shooed her away saying no more because it was close to closing. Now, I only stay at Holiday Inns and I have NEVER come across a breakfast area that would not refill the machine because it was close to breakfast ending. When it came time to pack up and check to see if I have everything, I got down to check under the bed. It grossed me out. There were crumbs, tons of dust, paper wrappings, etc. of things you would find under a bed. I think the beds need to have a box under them where nothing can get under it or the staff needs to vacuum under the beds (even if you have to move it to do so). July 28, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by TV doesn't work. Overall pretty nice, parking is lacking, workout room was good, TV didn't work in room. Breakfast was OK but the hash or what they call it was terrible, overall decent place. Atmosphere after dark is a little sketchy July 24, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Close to the university The stay was adequate. We spent very little time in our room due to the nature of our visit. We were in town for a swim meet at the University. We arrived late because it was a long drive. Their parking lot is not large and has assigned spaces. If you arrive late, you need to park across the street in public parking and pay that rate for the nite. If you park in their lot, you have to pay the hotel rate. It's the HOTELS lot, why am I paying to park? Also, breakfast started too late for us to enjoy it. We had to be at the pool at 7am and breakfast started at 6:30. It should start at 6. So I paid for breakfast that I could not sit down and eat. It was grab and go. Also, no fridge or microwave. That's tough with an athlete because they are always hungry. That was my biggest disappointment I think. However, the room was clean and the staff was friendly and there were really no major issues. I am not a fan of any city and will probably choose to stay outside the city next time. July 20, 2015
