Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stay Near Charleston SC with ease to old town area We have had an excellent stay. We have enjoyed a large double queen suite kitchenette room in the annex building near the pool and in the quiet away from the main road. This property is clean, well maintained, we ourselves noticed pressure washing side walks and pool cleaning while here. Happy and positive staff, great breakfast opens at 530am, this hotel has regular corporate customers. Excellent wifi! Our room is in excellent shape, comfortable sleep, loved the handy kitchen and pool. Honest staff, our room cleaning tip was left behind. Only draw back was distance to Downtown Charleston though we left at 730am and arrived at Waterfront Park by 815am the Monday after July 4th holiday weekend so traffic moves though heavy. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very pleasant stay this was our third stay at this hotel and the staff make this a pleasant and safe place to stay. the only complaint we had during our 4 day stay was our room window needed to be washed. but that is minor in regards to how we were treated and the great service we received. the breakfast each day is fresh and plentiful. the housekeeping staff our helpful and hard working. overall we have never enjoyed a better hotel property or stay. it is true that the people make a difference and the staff here are the best. cant wait for our next stay. thank you for a very pleasant experience. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable This is a Holiday Inn that delivers all that is typical of a Holiday Inn - comfortable bed, clean bathroom, and free wi-fi. The breakfast was good; lots of choices, the coffee could use a change though. If you plan on using this visit for a downtown visit of Charleston, it is a bit of a drive. It served our purposes well. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Monck Corner Aux. Building I checked in to the hotel 7/15/15 around 8 pm. after a very hot day at work, then a very long road trip. First, I was never acknowledged as any type of IHG Rewards member. Never offered bonus points or goodie bag. Just handed my paperwork and then my keys. I was then told that I would be staying in the Auxiliary building. I already had all my luggage with me so I was sad to hear that it was back out side and down the street about half a block, but I was assured that it was a "walkable" distance. So back out into the upper 90's heat and down the block I go. There is no path, no side walk, just the parking lot. Found my room at a very uncomfortable 86 degrees, and humid enough to make it feel like a jungle. All of this I could live with, but it was the smell of the room that hit me like a ton of bricks. The only way I could describe it would be wet old sneakers. By this time of the day I was too tired to even think about changing rooms, so I turned down the AC and jumped into a very clean, and cool shower. With that I did feel a bit better, but was saddened to find the AC had shut off, checking my phones thermometer it was still 74 degrees. so I turned the AC down as far as it would go, to no avail. The room never got cooler than 72 all night long. I was very unhappy with the room, but just to tired and lazy to do anything about it. It was clean, although the furnishings are dated, and the smell is something I would could have done without. It is not a hotel I will not stay at again. July 16, 2015
