Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel Our stay at the Monks Corner HIexpress was better than expected. The location was perfect. Only a few blocks from restaurants and shopping. The room was clean and spacious. We enjoyed the full breakfast in the morning. We found it to be very secure. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will stay there again next time I go to Monks Corner. October 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for Business Traveling *** Everything essential about this hotel is very well ironed-out: --- Staff was attentive and helpful. --- Room was quiet and dark at night. --- Bed, covers, and pillows were very comfortable. --- Showers got plenty hot and had a strong stream. --- Room was clean and well-kept. --- HBO is available. *** The only downsides to this hotel were the Internet access and the TV quality: --- Connectivity requires browser-based login instead of a standard WEP/WPA authentication (some devices will not connect if browser-based authentication is required). --- Internet speeds were noticeably slow; loading news sites can take anywhere up to 10, 15, or more seconds depending on how many pictures are on the page. Streaming is not possible. --- TV channel quantity is more than variable (you can probably find something to watch), but the quality is poor; the picture is fed over coax and is very grainy (definitely not an HD picture).
