In addition to the obvious discussions regarding the wedding activities, all guests in our party were extremely complimentary in our collective impressions and assessment of our accommodations - and believe me, it was hard to reach a consensus on anything else ! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Staff is friendly - especially Brandy in the breakfast area, and a wonderful lady in the second building who worked on the first day we were there Disappointed the first night we had to kill bugs in the bathroom. Also, the shower got the floor all wet, until we figured out how to work things. I almost slipped and fell on the wet floor. I felt sorry for housekeeping, as the towels were soaking wet - but we did get the floor wiped up for them. Brandy in the breakfast area was WONDERFUL!!!!! She tells it like it is (with the construction workers), and is most gracious to the guests. One day I had some of the cereal come out of the dispenser and go outside of the bowl. I apologized to her, and she said no problem, and cleaned it right up! I am used to cleaning up after myself (and others!). She told us of a home for sale, and was helpful in other ways. She was the bright spot of the day. The first morning as I was walking out of the building, I spoke to the lady doing the laundry - she was a lovely, pleasant person (and I am saying her color only to help you identify her - she was Black). She was cheerful, helpful, wished me a Blessed Day, and I had a wonderful, pleasant conversation with her that made my day!!!!! Many times throughout that day when things were tense, I thought of her, and I brightened up - so, you see, a person can make or break your day - I only wished I had her name to identify her better to you! Staff really went out of their way to help. The downside is the internet. Less than 6000Mbps internet speed. If you are a business traveler, and rely on the internet, bring a hot spot. May 27, 2014

My wife and I lodged here for a wedding and discovered this location is great for visiting several interesting places. Mepkin Abby, Cypress Gardens and Old Canal State Park are close. The staff was very helpful with information and directions. I will give this one an A+. May 7, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice staff I stayed 3 nights at this property. The staff was very nice, breakfast was great. The room was very clean but a little out dated and in need of minor repairs. Even though the room was a non-smoking room, the smell of cigarette smoke from the 2nd floor was overwhelming. I later found out there is another part of the property that offered all non-smoking rooms. Overall, I would stay at this property again. April 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable & Convenient Very convenient location to Santee Cooper where I was working for the days I was at the HIE. Reasonable selection of restaurants within 1-2 miles. Room and bath were sparkling clean and very quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only negative was the blackout curtains are not quite long enough to keep light from outside floods out. Otherwise, nice job. Will stay here again should I be back in the area. Platinum Elite - on the road every week. March 9, 2014

The first time was when I was stationed in Charleston with the Coast Guard and I was exploring the area... more recently was right after Christmas 2013. I have always had a great experience! The staff is super friendly and always helpful. The rooms are clean, and breakfast is good! My fiance raved about thebeds being so comfortable and although he has severe back problems, he woke up in much less pain due to the comfort of your beds. The second room had also been updated with a newer heater and made hardly any noise. They are always so friendly here and you feel like you are part of a family not a guest. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Moncks Corner I have stayed at this hotel a total of 4 times in the past couple of years and I usually have a good experience. This stay was a good experience, but the only problem was that the gentleman at the desk could not find our group code until another staff member was on site. Better identification in the internal system of a group staying at the hotel may be a suggestion to prevent this situation, It was a good thing I had been here before and knew that this was not the nature of the staff otherwise I may have taken my business elsewhere. Overall it was a good stay and the staff was friendly and welcomed the livelihood of my brethren traveling so far north as Pennsylvania. December 5, 2013

I called the front desk to make them aware of this issue and the lady at the front desk said "they let the housekeeping staff have the day off". I was not aware of this policy nor did we receive a discount for there not being any housekeeping services for that day. The lady at the front desk offered to bring towels to our room, but that was it. Other than that our stay was good. December 3, 2013

Also, my room was a non-smoking room and smelled fine; however, the hallway absolutely STUNK of cigarette smoke. The toilet in my room did not flush very well. The water pressure was good though! This is the very first time that I have rated a hotel, but you need to know about this one. Incredibly dirty, fleas everywhere not well maintained at all. If given the choice, stay somewhere else or if need be - stay in your car. I usually have a great experience at the Holiday Inn (IHG) hotels, but this one was pathetic. Never Again October 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful and Accomodating Stafff and Comfortable Rooms My family stayed at this Hotel for our daughter's wedding. The staff, from the time we booked to the time we checked out, were extremely helpful and accommodating. They made us and our guest for the wedding feel very welcome in their establishment. The rooms were very clean and I haven't sleep so well as I did on the bed that was in our room. Breakfast each morning had a variety of items to choose from and great coffee!! I would highly recommend staying at this Hotel for business, fun, or family gatherings October 23, 2013

Staff friendly, breakfast good, cinnamon rolls wonderful! Such a pleasant change from dried out pastries at many hotels with similar breakfasts. Will stay with you again on our next trip. We also appreciated the variety of food at breakfast, both hot and cold foods. There was cranberry juice which I appreciated and cannot usually find at hotel breakfasts. The staff is friendly, courteous, professional and helpful. Breakfast is available in a clean and inviting area. There is always plenty to choose from to eat and the food is always ready and hot. The rooms, the buildings and the grounds are very well kept. I stay here several times a year and always look forward to coming back to the clean and relaxing atmosphere. In the past I've stayed at other hotels in the area and they don't measure up to Holiday Inn Express in Moncks Corner. August 28, 2013
