I stayed in this holiday inn for three nights this December. The room I got was clean and cozy. It's on the main street but very quiet when you sleep.
Pro: The staff were very nice. I arrived at about 9am in the morning asking to store my luggage, and they checked me in!
The breakfast is excellent. There were plenty of fruits, milk/yogurt, bread/cake, oatmeal, pancakes, etc, of different flavor. I didn't try lunch or dinner in this hotel since there are many restaurants in the nearby China Town.
Con: Internet (wifi) is not very fast, but usable.

Other than the room being "too dry" from the heat the overall comfort level was fine.
I recognize that will the current heating system there is no way of making the room less dry. That's the downside of central heating.
The hot milk for the coffee is such a simple but oh sooo welcome touch. Thank you.
All the staff are extremely accommodating.

We have stayed at this hotel I think 17 times over the past 5 years. We love the location as it is about the same distance between downtown, old Montreal and McGill University
The Hotel is in sad need of repair. The furniture in the living room are mostly worn or ripped. Some of the tiles in the bathroom are broken or missing. The Bathroom door at the bottom has been damaged by water. The toilet was also leaking and running all night
The staff are very friendly and very good and the breakfast is great and I have said the location is great
We were told that IHG was going to upgrade the Hotel to bring it up to standards but this has not happened

We had a 3 day / 2 night stay and had to change rooms twice.
1. First room had no hot water.
2. Second room the sink leaked and flooded the bathroom. Including our toiletries and bags in the bathroom. Upon further inspection there was mold all around the underneath of the sink - not the first time this leak has occurred. Mold that would be hazardous to your health.
3. Third room had luke warm water at best.
4. Rooms were filthy. Dust, carpet stains, stained walls and dirt covered couches. We would not take off our shoes during the stay and slept in our clothes.
5. Mattresses were ancient with coil springs poking you and hard as a rock.
The only good thing about this hotel is its location and the front desk staff. I would never stay here again and will never recommended this hotel to anyone. I expected more from a Holifay Inn express.
Save your money or pay the little extra for a decent hotel. This is a one star at best.

This HI is a good option for the location, however the Room Maintenance is bad... For example: there are broken appliances and the painting is in bad shape...

I have explained to you the problem,, it was awful bad hotel,bad service,dirty room times 10?? Said they had no other rooms,, I felt they did not like Americans or english people with black hair who knows!!!

I have stayed at holiday inn express other locations in the past. This one was horrible filthy, furniture was garbage, the whole room smelled like urine, conditions were discussing. I would not recommend this place if it were free.

Our Suite was spacious and clean and seemed very private. It did not seem like we were in a hotel at all - it was more like a private apartment.
The staff were great! Very friendly and answered all of my questions promptly.
If there was anything that can be improved on, the front desk could review the elevator process when a customer checks in. You have to swipe your room key in order to get to any of the guest rooms. I really liked the security that this offered, but spent a few frustrating minutes going up and down in the elevator before we figured it out. There was a sign, but I did not think it was very prominent.
