Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A welcome stay and excellent service I had a very enjoyable stay at Holiday inn Express in Mount Airy. I was welcomed with wine and cheese when I checked in. A personable staff with good tips on places of attraction to visit. The room was clean, a comfortable bed and good night sleep along with hot breakfast had me refreshed for my next five hours drive. The hot tub wasn't working, although the staff did try to get it working while we were there. Very good breakfast with good variety. July 17, 2014

Some people book express hotels and then review based in the expectations of a 5 star resort. Mount Airy Holiday Inn express meets and betters the realistic expectations of this class of hotel. Location, staff and facilities were all better than expected. Booking was correct, price was correct. Room, was correct. Room was clean. Services were as described in Internet. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed Made reservations a week in advance for 2 King rooms together, quoted a price. Upon arrival after 3:00 check-in around 3:30, only one room ready and was told not together and that they could not change the rooms. The 2nd room did not have towels and we were told we had to wait for them. Almost an hour later we were told towels were in the room and we could check in. At about that same time other guest were checking in and told that towels would need to be brought to them but they could have access to their room.We were on the 3rd floor and I thought pets were not to be on that floor. Upon check out we were not charged the rate we were told when making our reservations, but a higher fee. Not much but still not what we booked. Expressed my concerns and disappointment on checkout and seemed to get nowhere and could not obtain a correct receipt for crediting our overcharge at checkout and needed to be emailed to me. All in all I am very disappointed in the service we were given. If you could provide customer service like the staff in the HI Express in Leland, NC that would be great. Never have issues there and the staff is great! July 9, 2014
