We came to town for a funeral and the front desk staff and manager went out of their way to accommodate us. They let us check in a little early and check out a little late. The room was very quiet and comfortable and the breakfast was great. Even though we were there for very unfortunate circumstances, the hotel did everything they could to be sure we had the best stay possible. Thank you!

Upon arrival, we were greeted and helped right away. The hotel was clean and inviting. The clerk was professional and efficient. Breakfast was good. It was quite busy, so we had to wait a bit for a table. This is the second time we've stayed at this property and both times it's been exceptional. Keep up the great work.

Upon check in Janice was very friendly and kind. The room was clean and spacious. The pool area was large-the hot tub was not as hot as we would have liked. When we turned in for the night the air stopped working and the room became stuffy and uncomfortable.When I told the girl in the morning she was not concerned that we were not happy about that. She said "it probably froze up". Well that ruined our stay!
I left a voice mail for the GM and never heard back from her.

We booked a "suite" for my family but got a standard sized room with a cramped couch area and a wet bar. It was NOT a suite and the hotel should not advertise itself as a suite hotel, far from it. We would have had more space with a standard room with a cot than in this "suite". Buyer beware, no pictures or room sizes on the hotel website. We did not complain, we were all tired after a long drive and I was in no mood to argue the definition of a suite, these aren't it.

My husband and I have been staying at the Mount Airy, Nc Holiday Inn since it was first started.....We have always been comfortable there.....I feel like I come home ever time I stop there for the night.....It's a great place to visit.......I always get the best nights sleep.......

I don't usually sleep well away from home but I slept alright. My travelling companions always look forward to the breakfast provided. Ladies in the lobby were very friendly.

This is our second stay in this HIE in the past two months. Our first stay was wonderful...clean hotel, nice room and good staff . We looked forward to our second visit but it was a different experience. The hotel was full and we were on a floor with a big group, perhaps a family who rented 4 rooms and there appeared to be a lot of people in each room. We returned to the hotel following an early dinner and planned to watch television and relax. Instead we listened to children running up and down the corridor screaming and slamming doors for the next 3 hours. We finally called the front desk at 10 pm and they were responsive and said they would try to take care of the problem. The noise did stop about 30 minutes later. Not sure if the staff intervened or the kids finally went to bed. My suggestion to the HIE is to try to put all the big groups on one floor and perhaps offer people who check in with only one or two people the option of a "quiet floor". The breakfast room was packed both times we stopped by and we just grabbed a coffee and gratefully got back on the road.

We stayed at this hotel for only one night. The room and common areas were clean. The staff was friendly and informative. This hotel is set off of the main road a bit so there was no traffic noise. Did not use the pool, fitness area or business center. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to others who might stay in this area.

We have stayed here many times, rooms, breakfast, always as good as or better than expected. Will continue to stay here. BUT!!!
They always advise us, "you are assigned a room at the time you make the reservation". Although they have rooms that are ready, and have been cleaned, the room "you have been assigned" is not ready.
I have a hard time understanding this policy?
If we are there, and there are rooms available, why do we have to wait for 'THE ROOM' that may have been assigned us 90 days ago?

The hotel and staff are very nice but even though I am a Platinum member I was not given a room upgrade (a benefit of being a Platinum member) because, as a retired 22 year military veteran, I used the military rate.

Five full stars. Clean, new, quiet. Safe environment. Friendly staff. Even the people staying in the hotel made our visit more enjoyable! Classy/conservative atmosphere. Wish all of our hotel stays around the U.S. had been this relaxing.

We stopped at this hotel while traveling, just to sleep and have a good breakfast. Everything was great except when we checked in they gave us a room that was already occupied. It was really strange for us as well as the people in the room when we walked in. I would have given this review all 5's if it wasn't for that experience. We went back to the front desk and they were very apologetic and gave us another room and key. It was taken care of well, but it was a strange situation to say the least. I don't know what went wrong, but they corrected the problem. I always
make sure I use the key latch when traveling so that someone can't walk into your room even if they have a key.

This might be the best Holiday Inn Express in the U.S.A. in the friendliest town in the U.S.A., Mount Airy/Mayberry. We made this our overnight stopping point for a North to South trip. Booked two rooms on a Thursday. Booked two rooms again on the Thursday return trip. The front desk staff is courteous and prompt with help. The hot breakfast staff keeps the items fresh and replenished. Pool and hot tub area are amazingly clean - as is the entire hotel. And rooms are well sound-proofed, very quiet nights. Thanks - we WILL be back.

We had a large, comfortable room ready upon our arrival and the desk attendant was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and local points of interest. The Mount Airy community is friendly and relaxed. It was a great start to our week of vacation.

We stayed here on our way to the beach! This is our second visit here and we love the hotel and staff.
They are so pleasant and the rooms are always clean and fresh smelling. We have a dog and they gave us a first floor room so it really made it easy to go outside..
Breakfast is good with eggs, yogurt, muffins, toast, bagels, peanut butter and cream cheese..the best!

This was our 2nd stay here. It was not an accident we returned. Very nice staff adn the room was very good.
As with all HIEs, you'll likely want to go somewhere else for breakfast -- unless you like high fat, high carbo, food -- mostly prepared "instantly" -- powdered eggs, "orange juice" where the first ingredient is high fructose corn syrup, etc.
As I said, this is one of the better HIEs.

We had an excellent stay at Mt Airy. The front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. Breakfast the next morning was in a warm comfortable environment. Would stop there again as we travel through the area.

Asked for a late check out at noon I was told if it was available. Being a PC Member and IHG member, I didn't think I was asking much. Few employees were VERY short with me about checking out 1 hour later.
Bathroom had many hairs on the floor.

This was the first time we had been to Mt. Airy and the hotel went out of their way to make our trip a good one. From tips on where to go to good restaurants, they were there to help. Also, my wife had some health issues while there and all the employees seemed concerned and continually asked how she was doing - thank you. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
