Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff I am writing a review to compliment Marianne, the Sales Director, and Colleen, our front desk agent. Initially, there was some confusion when HI had to extend the dates for the wedding room block that we were a part of. Marianne was very accommodating in extending the block and immediately booking us at the block rate and in the room category we desired despite the fact that reservations said that category was no longer available. We were very thankful for her wonderful guest service prior to arrival! The night before leaving, we realized (due to the craziness of the holiday season) that the wedding ceremony was 3 hours earlier than we thought it was. That meant we were going to have to leave and check in much earlier to get ready after a 5 hour drive. Colleen answered the night before upon our realization of the time and the next morning when we called to follow up on our request for an early check-i. She was so very accommodating and friendly! She did not let the early check-in special request effect our room category and she put us in a quiet room off the busy street on her own. We were very pleased! My husband was trying to get in the room while I was in the shower, juggling luggage, and dropped his key. The housekeeping staff (he didn't get her name) assisted him without being asked. The room itself was fine though we did find a dirty washcloth... I am sure housekeeping just didn't see it because it was hanging on the shower curtain rod. Other than that, everything was just fine! The staff went out of their way to be helpful, and the Greeting from the front desk was a deal breaker I knew it was going to be a wonderful stay. January 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good but room for improvement Overall, my husband and I liked this hotel. The rooms were very nice looking and comfortable. The areas that could stand improvement are: 1) being able to find someone at the front desk. The majority of times I needed help at the front desk, there was no one there and only once was there a sign put out saying that the front desk personnel would be back. This wasn't just at night - it happened during the day as well and wasn't for a short period of time. 2) Breakfast foods ran out over the course of my stay. The first day there was the full complement of breakfast foods. After the first day, they ran out of bacon (as in NO bacon at all), after the third day, they ran out of cinnamon rolls (NO cinnamon rolls). Guests needed to ask staff constantly to resupply items, i.e., coffee, hot water, butter, etc. If these two shortcomings could be improved upon, the hotel would truly be excellent. January 6, 2015

As soon as we got home we told our friends this is the place to stay! Also easy access to the Point Pleasant marina. January 6, 2015

The hotel itself is beautiful and appeared to be fairly new. Room was large and the bed was very comfortable. Best sleep I have ever had! I will go back. January 5, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Staff should have warned about the parking! We arrived about 8 pm and parked directly in front of the hotel and asked two of the staff when checking in if it was OK to leave my car there. They both assured me that it was. I went down at 8 am and my mirror on the driver side had been hit. I mentioned it to the lady at the desk. She said that it happens all the time and happened to her twice and that she will no longer park there. I realize I was parking at my own risk but it seems like the staff should have been aware of the issue and gave me better advice. Other than that, the experience was good. The hotel is in a great location and the amenities are very nice...one of the better Holiday Inn Express hotels I have stayed in. December 30, 2014
