Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful stay I brought my mother to her annual family reunion. We always stay here when we come to Muncie. The staff is very pleasant and always eager to assist. The room was clean, smelled fresh and was available when we arrived. We arrived a little early. The only downside to our recent visit was that there evidently was a motorcycle rally in town for the weekend. The sometimes tend to be quite loud.... Anyway.. We alway enjoy our stay in this hotel..... August 29, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A+ This place gets a gold star in my book! My girlfriend and I stopped in Indianapolis last minute on a road trip and needed a place to stay. We ended up here and it was great. Spotless room with great amenities, comfortable bed with pillows labeled "soft" and "firm". In the morning we woke up to a great breakfast selection and a very friendly staff maintaining the breakfast bar. If your ever in Muncie, this is the place to stay! August 23, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Quite a few mistakes I understand sometimes things go wrong as I used to work in customer service. But we were always able to make it right. I made a reservation for a jacuzzi sweet as a surprise for my girlfriend. I was really specific in that I wanted that sweet. She assured me it was but when I arrived I it was not correct. When I told them the staff was trying to help but all the rooms I originally wanted were taken and they said to call a number and see if they could help me. They only could offer me a slight discount. If it weren't for plans I had already made I would have just not stayed. When the bill came they had not given me my discount so I had to go straighten it out in the morning. Then while we were swimming the keys expired because I had not been scheduled for a late checkout like I had been originally told I would be. I had to go to the front desk wet and have my room key reactivated. The initial mistake was more depressing than frustrating because I was looking forward to having this surprise for my girlfriends birthday. The other misunderstandings were upsetting because I had felt like I was not compensated properly and more mistakes were just making it worse. August 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay We stayed here for an over night visit because we were moving our daughter into Ball State. The number 1 reason to stay here?? Simple is answer is the staff. The staff at this Holiday Inn are the best of the best. We had zero issues with any of the staff members and we were treated very well by everyone involved. I will stay here again just because of these employees. The hotel itself is what you would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed made for a great nights sleep. The bathroom was showing its age a bit. Our suite came with a wet bar, microwave, coffee maker, and a fridge. We had two TV's that had very good pictures. The breakfast was awesome. Everything was well stocked and easy to get to. A great way to start our day. They do have a pool and a hot tub. We did not use them on this stay, but they seemed well maintained. Maybe we will use them next time. August 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place, with a nice location I can't really say much about this specific stay, because it was just a sleep and run, but we have stayed here before, and it is very nice. Exercise room is small, but generally available. Pool looks to be very nice, but we haven't used it. Location is just a few minutes from Ball State University, which is why we chose it. It's also close to Lowe's and Wal~Mart which is very handy. The breakfast is very complete, and tasty. August 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A must for business travelers This hotel delivers on the Holiday Inn Express experience perfectly. I always prefer this chain and this property is no exception. Kate, on staff at the front desk, is a huge asset to the hotel and is extremely friendly and helpful! I've stayed in this hotel at least one night per week for the past 8 weeks and have been pleased with the consistent cleanliness. Some rooms have the more modern heating/cooling units, those are preferred. Some of the rooms, however, have the older units without the "constant fan" option. I like a fan all night! The pool is nice, the work-out room is acceptable but needs updating and some heavier-duty equipment. August 4, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mostly good experience with some annoying items Overall, I feel this is a nice place to stay, but: My 6:00 AM wake-up call came at 4:00 AM!!!!!! and there was none at the requested 6:00 AM.. Front desk attendant was engaged in a private phone call and I had to wait until she was done. This was observed on two other occasions. There is no rack or stand to rest your suitcase on while unpacking. The elevator is the slowest of any encountered in recent times and waits occurred while BIKES were taken up and down. On the plus side the staff was friendly and the room was very clean. July 21, 2013

Yet I still can't understand how I payed more for this room in Muncie than I did for the 5 other hotels I stayed in within the same week. There was nothing terribly wrong with this location, I just did not measure up to other HIE and similar chains I've stayed in. Internet service was sub-standard an rooms felt a bit uncomfortable and dated. July 9, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DISAPPOINTED Our stay was very disappointing upon arrival we were told our rooms were not available & had to wait that I can understand but when we returned we were told that we were not getting the suite w/jacuzzi that we had reserved several months ago & had called twice to confirm that we had them & were told yes each time. The girl at the front desk told us that is not what we ordered therefore I felt like she called us liars then she said they gave our room away to someone else. Then we asked for a rollaway bed & she told us they did not provide those but yet you could see them in the hallway. Therefore she lied to us! Our room didnt have air conditioning for two days they sent a guy up to look at it he said it was fine ( the sweat was dripping on us & we had to turn it off & open window to get air). The walls are very thin you can here everything inside & out . Updates are needed. I dont know what the sheets were wash in but my whole family was itching from them. Housekeeping staff was good. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Indy and it was wonderful so I expected the same from here. I was so looking forward to our stay there to relax but ended up disappointed. June 23, 2013

Hotel older and dingy - needs update. Pool and hot tub area sketchy at best. Beds are hard and pillows lumpy. Water seemed to be filmy - could not wash it off, it had to be toweled off. Disappointed that it wasn't up to its usual standards. June 19, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nothing Spectacular Nothing spectacular. Room was noisy as the ice machine was on the other side of the wall from the head of the bed. Whenever the refrigeration unit came on, the wall vibrated. Extremely loud, even with earplugs, whenever someone was getting ice. Noisy weekend, with people/kids running up and down the hall. Bathtub was dirty, rest of the room was clean. Staff was friendly and nice, though. Didn't get to try the breakfast, since it was so crowded. June 7, 2013

I booked 10 rooms at the hotel and everyone was happy with the rooms, the staff and of course the pool. I chose the Holiday Inn Express not only for it's convenience but also because it is one of the few hotels to offer eggs on the breakfast menu as well as alternatives to white bread and rolls. I would stay there again and would also recommend it to others. April 28, 2013

We have always had a great experience as Priority Club members at any Holiday Inn Express that we have stayed in....until our stay at the Muncie establishment. We were given a room right next to the elevator on 2nd floor. The elevator made a knocking noise that sounded as if it were going to come through our much so that we had to go to the front desk and request a different room. The desk clerk was very accomodating and gave us another room on the 2nd floor, near the end of the hallway. Even after the room change, we could hear the people above us on the 3rd floor whenever they walked across the room. The sound proofing in this hotel was definitely a problem. The price we paid for this hotel was definitely not worth it, as we could have stayed in another hotel within walking distance with better accomodations, and much less noise, for the same price as this one. Our daughter will be attending and playing soccer for Ball State this fall, so we will be spending the night quite often during the soccer season...unfortunately, it will not be at this hotel. The receptionest (lady) at the desk when we checked in around 10:00 PM was frendly and very helpful. Breakfast both mornings was good and overall condition of the room was excellent. If our daughter decides to go to Ball State you will see the Nobles back again. March 24, 2013

The staff at Muncie is not UNfriendly, just not as friendly as I have grown to expect. The hotel is very neat and very tidy; however, I have found it extremely difficult to regulate the temperaturn in my room. It is either "too hot", "too cold" and I just can't seem to find "just right". The bed and bed linens are very comfortable. March 21, 2013

Nice rooms, great lobby for socializing, wonderful breakfast, and great staff. The only negative was the Saturday afternoon/evening desk clerk, who made it her mission to make our daughters miserable. They were talking & laughing as a group in the lobby at 5:00 in the evening, and you would have thoguht they were running amok through the halls of the hotel at midnight. she was young , and new to her job, so I guess I understand. But she was not very understanding. The breakfast attendant, ont he other hand, was WONDERFFUL!! A very nice older gentleman who was great with the kids. He made our stay that much better. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed As a regular traveller for business I have stayed at four holiday Inn properties in the past 2.5 weeks. During my stay in Munice, a large winter storm was heading towards Indiana, thus I decided to shorten my stay by one day to drive to columbus safely (staying in the columbus Holiday Inn for the night) prior to my departure the next day. It was during the progress of my work day, and updated travel advisories that I made the decision to cut my stay short. Upon my checking out, I was told by the hotel manager that they would have to charge me for the night. Given my room was clean, and the number of stays I made with Holiday Inn, I was to say the least very disappointed. The manner in which he talked to me was very abrupt, and "I refuse to help you". So given that I will be back in the Indiana area for business, I will not be staying at this Holiday Inn property. February 27, 2013

It is always a great value for the money, especially since they serve a complete breakfast. The rooms are always clean and neat; and we love the mini refrigerator and microwave. The staff is always friendly and helpful. This is the first time we stayed in Muncie. The staff was the best of any hotel we have ever stayed in. They were very friendly and personable. They went out of their way to help us with a few unusual requests. We will definitely be staying there again. January 27, 2013
