The staff that takes care of the breakfast facilities tried to do her best in a crowded setup that was the lobby but had to be used as the dining area due to construction. Room costs were progressive, and this is the first time we encountered that aspect of Holiday Inn--in our estimation a poor way to treat loyal guests. We deserve better.

Everything was just as it should have been. The only downer was was the main hallway was under construction which was no big deal.

The hotel seemed to be in some disrepair. Outside trash containers were full, the pool and hot tub looked less than great. They might be in the process of renovating the place. I noticed the breakfast area was closed off and was maybe being redone.

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites of Muncie is an excellent place to stay, relax, and study. I stay at this hotel on a weekly basis because of the following positive factors:
1. Proximity to Ball State University, where I attend Graduate School.
2. The exceptional customer service and personal attention I receive from the General Manager and her staff each time I stay at this hotel.
3. The fact that I'm greeted promptly, courteously, and professionally by each different staff member with a genuine smile at check-in along with the fact that I'm a recognized IHG Rewards Club Member and again at check out with a smile, a sincere goodbye, "hope my trip home is safe and pleasant," and "see you next time."
I just can't praise the General Manager and the hotel staff enough for the way they make me feel welcome, respected, and truly "home" while I'm away from home most of the week. The room is always clean. Indeed, any time I need anything, my every need is promptly, courteously, and professionally taken care of with the utmost care, concern, and respect from the hotel staff!
Yes, currently, the hotel is undergoing renovations for the next few weeks, but if you really understand that this is a temporary thing that will be done in a matter of a few weeks, it's not a big deal. When the renovations are completed, it will just add to the great atmosphere here.
In conclusion, I would sincerely and whole-heartedly recommend staying at this hotel! I believe once you stay here and receive the kind of wonderful treatment that I do on a weekly basis from the hotel staff from the General Manager on down the line to each hotel staff member I've had the pleasure of meeting, you'll understand why I feel the way I do every time I stay here. So, come and stay here... I believe you won't regret it!! I don't and I wouldn't stay at any other hotel in Muncie!!!

the lobby/breakfast area is being renovated. the room was a bit dated with a damaged desk chair and a non functioning lock on the first floor window. When these items are corrected it will be a nice place to stay.

The Muncie location was not the experience we had at other Holiday Inn Express as the hotel was not clean and they were not generous with soaps and shampoo.

While the staff was very friendly and helpful, the rest of the hotel lacked in almost every department. The room smelled musty, the towels, pillows, and mattress needed to be replaced years ago, and the pool and hot tub were dirty. I travel a lot for both work and leisure, and usually when I stay at a Holiday Inn Express, I fell like I am in an upscale/fancy hotel and that I robbed them with the rate they gave me. However, this time, I felt more like, "well, you pay for what you get" and, "is this all we could afford." The breakfast was decent, but again falling short of what my typical experience is with Holiday Inn Express. If it weren't for the friendly front desk folks, I would never stay there again...the hotel itself just needs a lot of TLC.
