Was disappointed that Priority Club Members were not given the gift bag usually given. When I inquired about this, was informed that my membership level was not high enough (had to be a platinum member) to warrant receiving anything. I had not heard that at any other HI Express. Another front desk person heard me inquire & gave us the bag (2 bottles of water, granola bar & small bag of nuts).
Hotel hallway was noisy.
Pancake mix ran out & took a while to get more.
Website told me for 2 days that the hotel was sold out and 1 day before my trip, there were lots of rooms available & I was able to book a room.
Bed & view were fabulous!

Great staff! Helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. Nice design and the view is awesome! Might be the best in Michigan. Would recommend for anyone traveling in the U.P.

we enjoyed our stay for two weekend nights at the hotel, which had a few big pros and cons.
when booking, the view as seen on the site made me think the noticeably higher price (compared to most other HIEs) it was worth it and was comparable with other hotels in the area.
overall, service was great.
the rooms were fine but nothing special.
breakfast was well stocked, unlike our experience in St. Ignace.
the pool and hot tub had mildew all around the top on the inside. we were surprised at how bad it was.
but we didn't come here to swim, and we enjoyed the other aspects of the trip, so i still give a high rating.

This is a great place right on the water and close to the Pictured Rock boat tours. The fall color was beautiful. The breakfast was rather lacking, however, the pancake mixer didn't work, the juice was frequently empty & came out as water, the pastries were not fresh, the toaster took forever & did not brown the bread or english muffins. I've had much better breakfasts at motels. The server did do a good job of cleaning up frequently. The pool & hot tub were huge & a nice temperature.

Excessive noise from hallway and occupants above ( just normally walking around) made for a stay that was far below the Holiday Inn standards.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Pricey but comfortable except for the paper thin walls
We had a nice time at Pictured Rocks and even witnessed the Aurora Borealis. The view of Munising Bay from our room was awesome. The only downside to this location was the paper thin walls. You could hear people walking upstairs and voices through the walls.

The room was comfortable and roomy- loved the kitchenette, but the microwave beeped on and off at night and we had to unplug it in the middle of the night. The breakfast was great- so many good and healthy choices, and the staff was very friendly as well. Unfortunately, we were in town for a funeral, but we enjoyed the pool and hot tub in the evening and it helped us to relax and unwind from the day. Overall, this was a great stay that met our needs- enough room to visit with family, a great breakfast, and friendly staff at an affordable price. Thank you!
