Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Booked non-smoking room - put in horrible smelling smoking room I am IHG member. Checked into hotel and was put in the worse smelling smoking room I have ever stayed in. Asked to be moved, staff said all the non-smoking rooms were taken and they could not move me. My confirmation showed that have confirmed a non-smoking room. The night front desk person was not friendly and offered no service our apology for putting me in this room. Except for offering me a generic can of air freshener to spray in room. The internet connection quality in room was very poor and slow. Finally the breakfast had little variety and did not seem to be that fresh. I expect much better from the Holiday Inn Express brand hotel. My daughter is starting college at Murray State this fall and I will do everything I can to never stay at this hotel again. May 14, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Quilt Show My wife decided that we should go to the Paducah quilt show. So I worked out the plane travel and tried to book a hotel near Paducah. If you ever try to book for that event, 3 weeks is not enough. So I found this Holiday Inn and booked a night. I booked a non-smoking room, or at least I have never booked a smoking room before, however when I checked on the room earlier in the day it said smoking. I looked at the hotel using the app on my phone and there was still rooms available and non-smoking ones at that, so I figured I would just go to the hotel and change the room. Well, it appears that the website was not updated and there were NO rooms available, 100% booked. Good for the Hotel, not so good for me. I have been in smoking rooms before (not in this hotel) and they have been quite bad with regards to odor. The staff was quite helpful and offered for me to see the room before I checked in and "sniff." Also offering to give me a bottle of fabreeze. I inspected the room and it was pretty smell free, not perfect, but a far cry from what I was expecting, so we checked in. The room was nice and was clean and comfortable and the staff was quite helpful. - after I mentioned that the room was still showing available online - and then shown the room, I checked and THEN it said no rooms... but I had a room so all was good. I have decided to give my impressions of internet connections in these reviews since I don't often see people doing so, and also I often need to use the internet for my job. So at 5:00PM I did a quick test, fast connecting time, fast authorization, good Ping rate #network response.# So off to dinner we went knowing I would need to use the net later that evening. Well at 9:00PM when I connected again I got a fast connection, but that is where the similarity of my earlier test ended. The ping rate was VERY long. So long that I could not chat with work. Not a video chat mind you, just a microphone and headset. My wife likes to play online games and she could not even do that. High speed internet is all fine and good, but not if it is not there when you need it. - so basically it was useless for the night. This is not a connection issue, had a strong signal and was never disconnected, just took 20 seconds to load google for example. With the hotel 100% full I appreciate that it might be slow, but I was not expecting that slow. Other then the internet and the smoking issue mentioned already the room was fine, the tv stations were good, fast and quick. Breakfast was hot and had a good selection even with all the people there. May 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely nice staff, great place to stay We booked this room in Murray for graduation 11 1/2 months ahead of time. The hotel we normally stay at was already booked as were others, so we were nervous as we wondered why this one wasn't. We were very pleasantly surprised. The staff was incredibly friendly. The complimentary breakfast was above average for this type of breakfast. The food was hot. The serving utensils and area around the food was kept clean. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again. May 11, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BEST POOL AREA WAS GREAT TO HAVE AN INDOOR HEATED POOL.. SHOWER WAS AVAILABLE AND ALSO A SAUNA.HOW NICE IT WAS TO RINSE OFF THEN DRY OFF A BIT BEFORE GOING BACK TO OUR ROOM,,THIS IS WHAT MADE THIS STAY, ONE OF OUR BEST.... May 2, 2015
