Being a restless sleeper, the room layout allowed me to read a book, etc., without disturbing my husband. We were totally pleased with the cleanliness, amount of towels supplied, toiletry items provided for traveler's convenience, and a WONDERFUL breakfast in a delightful dining area. We will be staying here in Mystic both going and coming from Cape Cod again.

My husband and I stayed here on our trip to Maine. Wanted to visit Mystic and stay overnight. The price for hotels during our stay mid-July were very pricey. The Holiday Inn Express was the least expensive, so we chose it. If money is no object and you want luxury, book somewhere else. This particular hotel is old and didn't appear to be updated lately, as we stay in this chain a lot. No bad service or anything like that. Staff was courteous and breakfast choices are the same. Room was clean, but just could be updated.
Overall was a fine stay. You can be to downtown Mystic in about 5 min, or the Olde Towne Mystic is right below the hotel. A couple restaurants within walking distance as well as a gas station at the bottom of the hill.
I use reviews all the time before I book something so I try to include everything i would want to know. We did feel safe there and by all means go to downtown Mystic and eat at Mystic pizza. It's not only iconic, but the food was great. The working drawbridge is cool as well as the Drawbridge Ice Cream that sits right on the water.
