Great Location kinda half way between Toledo Ohio and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Nice indoor pool. Used Point Break Points to stay two nights.

Even tho the hotel was under constructions everything looked fine and clean to the customers. The sleep quality was good and the rooms were clean. I kinda liked the letter they added with my bill. it was a first and I thought it was a good touch to make sure that everything was okay.
I like staying at the HolidayInn hotels, and they serve breakfast very early and I'm not sure why! I really wish this add an hour or move it an hour since most of the time I miss it.

I booked a Standard King room with a desk, fridge and microwave on a Monday with a bonus points package. I arrived Tuesday to find I was booked in a double room that was called an "overflow" room with none of the amenities I paid for. Additionally, I was charged twice for my stay without any prior notice. Additionally, the website listed this as "NON SMOKING" but I quickly found out the hotel was SMOKING and the ENTIRE property smelled horribly of cigarette smoke and stale nicotine. It was the most disgusting smell I've probably ever encountered for any lodging establishment I've stayed in. Even though my room was listed as "non smoking", it REEKED of cigarettes and the smoking rooms are DIRECTLY ACROSS from the non-smoking rooms. Needless to say my night was pretty terrible and I didnt get much sleep and woke up with a HORRIBLE throat ache from the smoke smell.
I brought to the Hotel Manager's attention all of these details and she appeared to take them seriously. The hotel was under a remodel and she stated they were removing all of the smoking rooms but a select few and segregating them, so hopefully that will solve most of the issues. The manager also gave me 5000 extra points and comped my stay, so that was a nice gesture. She also took it upon herself to call my credit card company and have the mistaken charges removed immediately. If it was not for the manager, this review would be a 0. While I cannot recommend staying here, the Manager was fantastic as was her staff and hopefully the renovations take care of the smoking issue and these payment issues never occur again.

I've been staying at this HIExpress for the past 4 yrs. As a busy provider it's good to stay at a place where you can collect your thoughts, get some rest and receive the same service that I like to give.
I'm happy to see that they're updating the rooms.They keep what they have very clean and it's easy to be accommodated w/o the worry that you're imposing.
All workers know me and are cordial and respectful to my needs.They keep an eye out on when I leave the property and clean my room in a timely fashion. It's rare for me to return to an unattended room. If I'm sleeping in, they respect my privacy.
Most importantly.... there have been times that I've forgotten something on my check out day. I've called with regards to what I may have forgotten and it's always been found and returned to me. That's a level of honesty that keeps me coming back.
