Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great choice The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and wish I could have stayed longer. Great location walking distance to the downtown scene an walking distance to the stadium. November 21, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Reservations I am very dissatisfied with the way my reservations were handled. I called in directly to the hotel to place my reservation. I booked a suite for 2 days and was given a really low rate. I questioned the rate several times while on the phone and even had the lady double check the total she was giving me. I was placed on hold, passed to another department that was selling timeshares of some sorts, which I kindly declined and then had to deal with a man being extremely rude. I then called one of the friends that would be traveling with me...we reviewed the rates and called the reservation line back to confirm that we were booked in a suite. She again confirmed...the square footage of the room and insured us that the Executive Room was a Suite. Once we arrived at the hotel we were in room 827 which is not a suite, but a standard room. We returned to the front desk to discuss the situation and was completely blown off by some young man full of attitude. We were told that there was nothing that he could do and we should call the hotel next time to make a reservation and then stood and rolled his eyes when asked what he could do to rectify the problem. Needless to say none of us on this trip were very pleased with our stay. I would suggest that if a lower rate is given for purchasing an additional stay at a timeshare that be told at the time of booking. I would have booked for a timeshare to get the additional money off of the suite. November 20, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great friendly staff I really enjoyed my stay Downtown Nashville. The hotel staff were so friendly and greeted me every time I would walk thru the lobby or in the hallways. The Breakfast was more than what I expected for a complimentary meal. Very satisfied with my stay. November 19, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rooms need attention Although I really enjoy the staff and the location of this hotel, I must say that the rooms need serious attention. I did not complain to the staff about my room. Why? I didn't really think they could perform the repairs needed in the amount of time I was going to be staying. Here's a punch list: 1. The curtain is torn/disconnected. 2. The coffee maker does not work. 3. Don't try to warm water for tea in the microwave- one leg is broken so the water tips over. 4. The faucet is corroded. 5. The bathtub is painted. Painted. Lovely lobby though. November 19, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Great Rooms - Night time staff Completely unprofessional night staff at this hotel. If you have a good time downtown and walk through the lobby don't make a sound or the rude Front Desk Manager Daniel will call the "off-duty" lobby police over for no reason and make a fiasco of nothing. I travel often to Nashville and usually stay at this hotel everything went well in past, but this was my last stay. It is terrible the behavior of a few employees can ruin a great hotel. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location This hotel is located in the perfect location. It is blocks away from great things no matter which way you turn onto Broadway!. If you go left downtown is a couple blocks away. If you go right there are some hidden gems. November 17, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not my cup of tea Ok so I don't want to sound negative, but it is. This place needs some work. I checked in on 11-9-14 for a week long conference. The front office staff was nice. When I made it up to my room, I noticed several long black hairs in the bath tub. I called the front office and complained that there were many hairs in the bathtub. They asked if I wanted to change rooms and I said yes. They called me back and said they were going to upgrade me to a 1-bedroom suite for my problems. I finally got my new keys to the new room and everything seemed nice. About 20 minutes later one of the females from the front desk knocked on my door and personally wanted to know if everything was ok. She then presented me with a gift card to a restaurant that was near by. She said that the hairs were from housekeeping and apologized for the actions of the housekeeper. Housekeeping needs some work. The first day, I had some several small towels hanging on the towel bar in the bathroom, I used them on the bathroom floor so I wouldn't track water throughout the room after I got out of the shower. I got to use those once, because they were never replaced. I opened the blinds in the front room and looked up, and the ceiling was falling down, there was already a large spot of where the drywall was exposed. The rooms were not cleaned in a timely manner. When I got back to my room at 330 in the afternoon and the room was not cleaned, I got irked. No I didn't report this to the front desk because it simply would not have mattered based on the number of housekeepers on staff they were busy. My group utilized the free shuttle, that was nice to use since we didn't have to pay for taxis. The breakfast buffet was nice, it had a good selection of food items, but didn't use since I had packed my own breakfast items in my suitcase because I was usually gone by the time the breakfast bar opened up in the mornings. Overall, I gave the lower score based off of the housekeeping staff. I do not plan on staying at the Holliday Inn Express in Nashville again. November 15, 2014
