Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tired and Outdated We are relocating from Birmingham area to Phoenix area. Started our trip with first night in New Albany. Tough trip with family and dog.... Front desk staff was very nice and friendly. All downhill from there. Room was about 10 years past needing renovation. Across the hall was a room with the doorknob removed that was apparently being used as a smoking break room by the staff. My kids went to the pool to was green and you couldn't see the bottom. Internet didn't work.... Bathroom was a horror. That night my wife was so freaked that she wouldn't sleep under the covers. For breakfast we decided that a cinnamon bun would be comforting.... I went down with about an hour left for breakfast and no buns. I asked the lady and she said, "we out, that's just the way it is". She was not ugly or happy just dryly matter of fact. The only redeeming part of the stay is that our new catch phrase for the trip is "that is just the way it is". Just so it is not all negative, the addition in the back seemed more up to date and fresher than the front part where we were. I am sure traveling with the dog had something to do with our placement. I stay 50 plus nights per year in IHG hotels, I will drive by this one next time....that is just the way it is! July 5, 2014

We did not have reservations and were please they had rooms available. I love HIE with their breakfasts. Just disappointed we didn't have our swim suits packed. June 26, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not too Bad Saturday.....Starting with the Public Restrooms. No toilet tissue or paper towels in the ladies' restroom and the floors wasn't clean. This was all around 3:30 in the afternoon. The Men's restrooms had a Sorry out of order sign on the door. I open the door hoping to find some toilet tissure but I found a toilet full of brown stuff. The sign was still there on Monday. Meaning the brown stuff was there for at least 3 days. YUCK!! Now to the room....air conditioner was on 65 but felt more like 72. For some reason the lamps #3# wasn't working. Yes they was all plugged in. Friendly staff. Just a few things bad but not too bad. June 24, 2014
