When we checked in the front desk person could not be bothered checking our ID or recognizing our gold cards. Breakfast the next morning was so limited in items and the only person working the line was so uninterested that we saw many guests simply leave without eating. Worst breakfast of any Holiday Inn we've stayed at. When we left, the front desk person looked like they just got out of bed and again could not be bothered with anything. We will drive beyond this property in the future as it is the worst of any hotel we have stayed at.

Met some friend to do some business. We had a good stay and headed home. I forgot an article of clothing ( my jacket) in the closet and called they found it and had it at the front desk for me.

Property was under renovation, but the common areas were clean and free of clutter. Our room appeared to have just been renovated and had a new mattress and bedding. The bathroom was fresh and clean.

Just not the HIX experience I have come to expect. Check in was slow because I was taking the radical approach of paying cash. Internet was out. (repair issue so not HIX fault but still annoying) Bed was harder than my preference and is probably more suited to more bargain hotels than an HIX. Not horrible but reconsider brand loyalty if I were to be in the area again. Entryway was muddy.

Enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Express. The bed is, as usual for Holiday Inns, very comfortable. Room was clean, but is in need of some furniture cleaning or updates.
We were very unhappy with the quantity of food available for the complimentary breakfast. There is no excuse to keep one piece of each bread or only one yogurt in the cabinets at a time. Questioning the hostess regarding the above, she said there were too many people taking too much food. Don't know if that was an independent or management call, but leaves a customer thinking they are not welcome.
