I recently had an extended stay at this property. The first night I was there I killed a huge cochroach! Disgusting! The other issue that came up, was the lack of service. On the third day of my stay, I was looking forward to house keeping cleaning my room. To my surprise noone cleaned up, when I asked mh collegues if they had gotten service, they told me no. Wow, no one got servicethat day. The folowing day they cleaned my room, but hey didn't even wipe down the sink or faucet. It was still covered in toothpaste. I won't be sta[ing in this place anymore.

We were heading home from our honeymoon and needed a place to stay overnight. We booked ahead and so the staff had us in our room in 5 min. That was perfect because it was late, after a long day on the road, and we had dinner take out that we didnt want to get cold. The room was perfectly clean and comfortable. It was a nice quiet place to rest. I would recommend stopping here anytime.
Breakfast was delicious, with a decent variety of food. (No waffle iron lol). But everything tasted great!!
With express check-out it's like we weren't there at all. So easy, Thanks Holiday Inn Express.

This was the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel and I travel a lot. I'm in hotels for approximately 10 days out of 30/31.
I booked through holiday inn express online.
I called three times to let the front desk know I'd be having a late arrival. Each time I was told there was no need to call because my room was guaranteed and they had several rooms available. When I arrived after checking in I was very upset after seeing the room I was given. Besides the fact that they hadn't cleaned the room very well, the ceiling above the shower in the bathroom was all rippled and coming down, the walls by the door and by the bed were all stained and rippled. I was given a handicap accessible room where the tv was so far from the bed I couldn't see it. I went down to the front desk and was told by the lady there was nothing she could do about it. I asked her if I could switch rooms and offered to pay more if need be and she said no because I booked through a third party which I didn't, I booked through holiday inn online. I went back to my room but I just felt so uncomfortable. I called the front desk three more times asking if I could switch rooms and they lady became irritated and said no she couldn't do anything and to speak to the person at check out time. Unfortunately she refused to give a refund or I would of left and stayed someplace else. Needless to say it was a sleepless night in an uncomfortable room where the tv was so far away I couldn't see it and the wifi didn't work either. Upon check out I called the front desk again and informed them of the horrible events last night. The lady at the desk said she could only refund me $35.00 for the inconvenience of the bathroom ceiling. There was nothing she could do about it. I asked for the manager and she said I needed to call or email him.. To this day I have yet to get response. I would Definitely not recommend this hotel.

Although I found the bed hard and not comfortable, our overall experience was positive at this Holiday Inn. Very easy to find with excellent breakfast choices. I found the facility to be very clean.

Great place to stay if in town for Little League World Series as it was just a short 20 minute ride which was traffic free. We got in and out of the stadium and on the road quickly. Staff was very friendly and was prepared with information regarding location and maps for parking. Great value, very clean rooms and breakfast variety was ample..

This is the best Holiday Inn Express Motel I have stayed in. Very nice, clean and quiet with decent breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. Pool area is well kept and clean.
I'm definitely staying there again when I'm in the area.

I had booked on line like I always do and booked the wrong date. We got in early in the wee hours of the morning and our reservation of course wasn't there. Instead of saying...we do have rooms availbale tonight, the comment was, your reservation was last night and I had to charge you for the other night. I completely understood since I have done this twice this year now. (Yep I can be a screw up#. I then had to solicit to see if there were any rooms available #it was 2:30 in the AM) as we were passing through and just needed a little rest before we continued on our travels. The response of the front clerk was "you are not planning on spending tonight are you? because check out time is ____". She then charged me full rack rate.
I am Platinum and normally don't expect much but she really made me feel unwelcome. I need to clarify that I absolutely did not raise a stink over my screw up and the need to charge.
She would have gained so many points by saying...I am so sorry Mr. _________ but it appears as if you had a reservation for last night which we had to charge you for. I do have rooms available yet tonight and I can cut $10.00 off the current rate I am supposed to charge. Would you like me to check you in. That would have made me feel like a valued member.
She sure did nothing to make me feel like a valued customer as everything we discussed it was negative first. She sure missed an opportunity.
Next time I will not be utilizing this property.

We were traveling east for a long trip and prior to leaving we targeting a few potential places to stay, this being one of them. We called a few hours before arrival and they promptly took care of everything very quickly. The room was clean, they opened the pool a bit early to allow our kids some fun in the morning.

The room a/c did not get cold. It is set to only cool the room not actually make the room cold. On a 90+ degree day, only cooling the room is not enough. Also, I am a priority member and did not receive any points for this stay. You keep raising the total points needed for a free stay so that is getting much more difficult for the 2-3 times a year I use a hotel. We always stay at Hol. Inn Ex., but your rewards program does not offer any incentive to return. Other loyalty programs offer better incentives so I will be switching after I use my remaining points.

We love staying at this Holiday Inn Express when we visit family. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. We are platinum priority club members and not all hotels are willing to give upgrades but this one is. We appreciate them and their kindness and courtesy!

We always look for a Holiday Inn express for our family.We are a loyal customer. The only thing with this stay is that if I had known this room was directly across the ice machine/vending machine I would have requested for a different room. We got in late that night & were too tired we just wanted to go to bed. Mistake. I should have asked to be moved to a more quiet room! Lesson learned.

Very pleasant hotel. Nice rooms, nice staff, very clean and well-maintained. The place looks like new. My son really enjoyed the indoor pool. The big buffet (and country store) a few miles down the street in Lewistown was interesting, kind of fun and a good value. I stayed here a year ago and had much the same experience. I stay in a lot of hotels throughout the year, nothing to worry about here.

We are so thankful for the great atmosphere and the accommodating staff, during our extended stay. We had a great experience while there and my sons thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Everyone tried to make our stay as close to home as possible since we were not able to be in our home, do to our fuel oil tank rupturing. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and they have a great breakfast too. The beds are very comfy to sleep on, for which I was very grateful for, since I suffer with Fibromyalgia. Thanks again to everyone who helped make our stay a great experience.

I always look forward to my stops at this motel. The management and staff are the friendliest and most accomodating I have ever encountered. Always a smile, and a hello or good bye whenever entering or leaving the motel and a willingness to address any question or problem I need help with. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The breakfast bar is excellent. The pool and hot tub are always kept clean and are a nice end to a long day. I have never had a problem with any of the services such as telephones, WIFI or TVs. When on the road, I feel like this motel is my "home away from home". I am looking forward to my next stay. Five Stars!

Terrible . If the water pressure is low it takes twice as long to shower

Average Hotel! has many upgrades .but the overall staff brings it down. They will not even acknowledge you in the morning or when returning at the end of day! Renae is the the only front desk person that is nice and helpful with all concerns! Better Keep Her! You
stay at a hotel and expect comfort, and that's not what you find here! The bed mattress's are all worn out and the housekeeping is marginal at best!

Enjoyed my stay in New Columbia, while visiting friends in Lewisburg. Every was good, and the room was enormous. However I couldn't get the wifi to work and since I only had a few hours to sleep I didn't ask the staff to fix things. Break items looked on the thine side and so I decided to be healthy and left in the morning with a nice cup of coffee! As a gold priority club member I got a bottle of water, which is always nice.

This was my 2nd stay at the Lewisberg/New Columbia HIE and it will likely be my last. On both occasions, the Internet did not work and the evening shift desk person has no people skills.
Wireless Internet service does not work or is so slow that it does not work. As a business traveler, Free Wi-Fi is one reason I choose (and recommend) HIE. When I inquired about the service to the night shift desk clerk and stated that the Internet did not work during my previous visit approimaltely one month earlier, she simply said "they're working on it" ; effectively, not responding to the issue that it apparently not worked proplerly for some time. In general, the evening desk clerk is not a problem solver and is not customer oriented. Finally, I've had to wait at the front desk every time I needed help. The only time she is visibly at the front desk is when another customer is there. If that is not the case, she is sitting in the back.
My room was not cleaned satisfactorily, in particularly the bathroom. This is likely because the housekeeping staff is sitting was busy sitting on a bench in the front of the hotel chain smoking.
The breakfast selections are the same every day. Other HIE locations have some variety in the breakfast offerings, but not this site. Again, this is the only HIE site where I've stayed for multiple days that I never say the breakfast bar attendant.
Let me end by saying that if a business hotel decision is mine, I choose HIE. I also often use HIE for personal travel. This is also the first time I am taking time out of my busy schedule to write to complete this survey. As with any other business, if this many things are wrong, local management is to blame. Someone from HIE should visit this location and make an assessment of their own because this hotel is not up to HIE standards.

Not only was the service horrible but somehow this was listed as a nonqualifying stay so I did not get priority club points. I don't stay at holiday inn hotels for anything but the points. I would stay at another hotel if it were not for the points. SO the points were removed in 2013 I am not staying here again if I can avoid it.

My work has had me staying at this hotel for the past few months. It's a nice newly remodeled hotel. I was there during the end of the remodeling, which they did a nice job of keeping it clean as they could during remodel. The staff at check in and out seemed nice. housekeeping has always done a nice job cleaning rooms. I only had one really bad night (when the power was out) In the past 5 months of stays at this hotel.

I travel quite a bit for business and this is a very nice HI Express -- almost feels brand new. Very contemporary decor/furnishing/fixtures, very clean. A definite cut above the average.
The staff, while not rude, wasn't exactly friendly or welcoming and there was no recognition for priority club membership.

I doubt I will be returning. I used reward points to book a room for my son and wife over the holidays and what they experienced wasn't as good as I would have hoped. Nor one that I would tolerate. I think this is the first time that any Holiday Inn I've experienced was as rude and condescending at check in. Just because they where not "me". I don't see it that way and I can assure you that there will not be an occasion for a repeat incident.
