Friendly staff, attractive facility, great breakfast, but.....
This was my second visit. Both times given a room on the third floor. Both times had to request a room change due to unbearable smoke odor. The room on first floor was not much better. An employee stated that this was previously a total smoking facility. It's a nice facility overall, if you don't mind cigarette odor. At 4 am, we finally gave up, checked out and drove home.

When we arrived for an over night stay, every door on the building had a no smoking sign posted. We checked in, got our room key and went to the room. When I opened the door, the smoke smell hit me like a brick. The room smelled like an old bowling alley. We went back up to the front desk and told them the room stunk. He came with us and agreed. He showed us the room next door (same configuration - king sized with hot tub). It only smelled slightly better and only because someone had just sprayed air freshener in the room.
He offered us another room. It was on the other end of the hotel and did not stink. However, we lost our King sized bed and hot tub. Very dissapointed. The next morning, I walked down the hall to the place where the King sized bed room was and the whole hallway stunk. Definately not a non-smoking area. I heard him checking someone in to that same room and he told them he would have to go spray air freshener because the room had a "slight smell" to it. The desk clerk was nice and tried to make it right but his look when I said the room stunk told me it wasn't any surprise to him.
I've stayed at many Holiday Inn Expresses and have enjoyed them all. However, I will not return to this location.
I know some people won't think that the smell in a room is a big deal. However, I have a very sensative nose - especially to cigarette smoke and will not stay in a smelly room. If you smoke, your house, closes, breath and hair probably stink too, you just don't know it because you have gotten used to the smell. Just sayin'.

When you say you can accomodate 5 people to a room then I would hope in the future you do just that and not expect 1 person to sleep on the floor!

Advantage of arrival on weekend as I did: Best value. This hotel continues to shine and I would compare it to stays in DC, Charleston and other places I have stayed. Staff excededs expectations for service. Highly recommend.

A true place to relax and unwind after or before a meeting or enjoying a Comet Hockey Game. Manager has a new social hour snack and I have met some great people also staying. Staff is the best. Relaxing in pool is not my favorite activity but when I choose to it is indoor, safe, clean and well maintained.

Once again enjoyed my stay. Had opportunity to once again meet other guests around the Big 10 BB game on the TV while enjoying the managers salsa and chips. Too many people do not take advantage of this rare time to meet others and discuss if nothing else the game. Stay was restful and prepared me for the following day quite well. Staff once again went overboard

The staff at this hotel always greet you with a smile. Not just the desk people but also the house keepers. Must be a good place to work.

We stayed at the New Haven, IN facility the night of 1/13/13 most recently - have stayed here before - and, as usual, had a very pleasant experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are really nice and everything is very clean. It is one of the nicest, best run HIE that we have stayed in. Because we have had such positive experiences and great service here, we will continue to preferentially stay at this HIE whenever we are in the Ft. Wayne area.

This hotel is quiet and the staff is friendly and knowledgable. Great Lady at the front desk knows me by name. Safe and secure for vehicles and traveling alone.

I really needed an office center as I try to avoid traveling with a computer.... Thought all holiday Inns had them, note to self & others.. They all do not.
