The area was quite. The hotel appears to be fairly new or recently renovated. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn at New Orleans in our first visit ever to New Orleans. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous, but this is the only positive statement I can make. We stayed in a room with a single King bed and a sleeper pull-out sofa. The sleeper sofa bed was queen size, but there was a twin mattress in it. There were no extra blankets in the hotel. I had to ask for blankets and I was provided two cheap and thin blankets. Breakfast was horrific. The eggs were cold and the sausage was inedible. We stayed 2 days and chose not to eat the provided breakfast on the second day because the food was so bad on the first day. We also could not use the pool because it was broken and repair had to wait until it was convenient for the maintenance staff to come by and try to fix it. We felt that we did not get what we paid for.

I've stayed at numerous holiday inns and suites but I will make sure to find a different one next time I'm in New Orleans. Too many issues with the A/C, Frig, old odor of the room, housekeeping coming by too early in the morning.

We had a prompt check in and were each given a pack of Oreo cookies, which was a nice surprise. We stayed on the 4th floor, this wasn't bad but we did find it inconvenient to have to go to the first floor for ice but not a big deal. We also thought is was a bit strange that there wasn't a room on our floor to grab extra towels but the staff are very accommodating and all we had to do was ask and they gave us the extra towels we needed. The room was a tad smaller than I would have liked for the price paid, but I'm sure it was higher due to location. The breakfast was good and had a nice selection to choose from. Housekeeping was great, we had stepped out the next day and they came in, cleaned and made the beds without disturbing anything. Check out was quick and easy. We hope to return and would stay at this hotel again.

The hot water pressure was extremely poor and the wait staff was non-attentive to our issues. We had our key cards die twice, once was because the battery in the reader died. We were told the maintenance guy wasn't available and he would come fix it when he could. Hotel wasn't very clean and the area wasn't that great
