This is beyond a five star hotel. It is a perfect example of what a Holiday Inn Express should be. The locations who fall short of a five star should take note of this one in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
The breakfast area is first class with TWO big screen TVs, fire place, high table with internet outlet for your computer. Booths as well as tables and the decor is attractive and very tastefully done. The lobby is bright and welcomeing and just a "wow" factor from the time you walk in. Very comfortable atmosphere.. The suites are extra large with good quality bedding and amenities. And NO charge for a cot!!! Very, very pleasant staff. Did not have time to check out the pool. This hotel is only 3 years old. Would drive the extra mile to stay here again. I can't say enough about this hotel. Check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

The maid service was so inconsistent. One day the coffee maker was clean and the next day it was left dirty. One day there would be new coffee and another day none. Sometimes the empty toliet paper roll would be left empty. Sometimes I would be down to one towel.

Upon entering the lobby, the smell of air freshener overwhelmed the senses-and not in a good way. My hope was that would dissipate when I went to my 3rd floor room-not the case. It made me wonder what odor the hotel was so acutely trying to mask. Rooms were neat and clean-again wondering why the abundance of air freshener. Beds were comfortable. Dining was the usual for Holiday Inn Express-same acceptable menu, dining service personnel needs to be more visible for for customer questions or assistance (eg. pancake machine). When trying to adjust heat, called the desk to ask how to attain heat (the unit was blowing cold air when thermostat was turned up) and the desk personnel did not have a solution beyond the one we had already tried and did not suggested a call to maintenance-perhaps it was too late in the evening (after 9pm)-regardless, if maintenance is done for the day, desk personnel should have solutions to offer. Our solution was to turn unit off. All employees were polite. Eliminate the air freshener and give clearer directions to problem solve heat/AC unit, and I would book again. However, I would call directly and ask about the use of air freshener before booking.

First they agreed to a rate and then changed it after one night, my company questioned and it caused a hassle over $5.00. Called for manager ahead of time, did not call back. In general unfriendly. I was supposed to stay a month, left after 3 nights, gladly. Physically it's good, minimal breakfast.

and I will continue to stay here in the future. It is not the bricks and mortar that make a nice hotel, it is the personnel, most of whom now know me by my first name now.
Keep up the good work - even though it is marginally financially rewarding and most people probably do not even begin to appreciate the effort the your staff puts forth. You staff is one of the friendliest I see in the business. Quality start at the top, you are blessed to have such a good staff.

I stay at Holiday Inn Express (Almost Exclusively). From the people to the property, this location is spot on. Most of my business is done 30 minutes away, but I drive to stay at this hotel, WAY TO SET THE STANDARD!!

Ive been in this hotel steadily since August 21, 2012 and I've noticed a change in the way the hotel is ran and managed. There's a young woman, who is obviously a manager, that is always there. When I leave for work at 8am she's there. When I get home she's there. After the gym, she's there. When I left at 445am last week she was there. This type of dedication should be recognized. Very rarely do you see this type of work ethic and when you do you realize it's special. If I could steal her from Holiday Inn to do what I do, I would. With that being said it would be a huge disservice to Holiday Inn, and IHG, to not promote her; if not in position at least in pay. She's always very warm and welcoming and I always look forward to her hospitality and generosity when I check in and out. I just hope that the upper management recognizes such an asset the way that I do.

This is a renovated hotel with nice rooms, pleasant decor and very friendly and competent staff.
As part of my room rate I was to receive a $25 gas gift card at checkin. It was stated on my reservation that I was to pick it up at check in. Upon checking in I asked for the card and was told I had to come back in the morning to get it. I enquired as to the reason I could not get it now. I was told by the front desk clerk that this was the instruction received from the general manager. I said I didn't want to come back in the morning as I had automated checkout. I requested my gas card be out in the folder with my statement. Same message. I had to come back in the morning and get it..
I came back in the morning and received my gas card and again expresssed my dissatisfaction with the procedrue. The morning desk clerk gave me the same message; that this was being done at the direction of the general manager.

Weekend getaway was great. The room was clean, relaxing and quiet. We were a little dissapointed that the internet connection was very slow. Breakfast that was offered was fully stocked with a wide selection. Great! If we were ever in the area, we would stop again.

I travel frequently and therefore spend many nights in Hotels. This HI express is conveniently located, always clean, but best of all the staff is second to none. From the Manager to the front desk to the cleaning staff they have always been pleasant and helpful.

When we checked in I asked if they had a handicap room and I was told they only had one left on the second floor. We took it and the only thing in the room accessible to a handicap person was one rail in the tub. No bath chair and no other rails in the bathroom. I have a broken foot & I was extremely uncomfortable in this room. We had stopped at another hotel before checking into the Holiday Inn & they were very honest & said all their handicap rooms were taken. We stopped again the following night and this hotel (not a Holiday Inn) were VERY helpful & brought a shower chair to our room. I was very disappointed with this Holiday Inn Express and for this reason we will not be staying at another Holiday Inn.

This was a good stay. The breakfast area was especially nice but the pancake maker did not work properly and I love the HI express pancakes. I thought the lights by the mirror in the bathroom were dim but my wife said they get brighter the longer they are on. The price was somewhat higher than most ot the HI expresses I have stayed in the past.

This hotel is very nice and the staff goes out of their way to insure that you have a good stay at this location. If you are dissatisfied, they will help to make the situation better. We had very loud guests in the room next door that woke us up in the middle of the night. The manager took care of the situation.
The breakfast is great..The options available were delicious and the staff constantly attended to keeping everything in order and clean. We would highly recommend this Inn !
