Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff and Great Location My family (of 12) had a great experience at this property. Starting with the staff! Kelly was amazing from before we got to the hotel to the end of our stay. I had been communcating with her over the phone a couple of weeks before we arrived just to make sure that our reservations were in order and so forth. She was phenomenal! She helped us with information on transportation and suggested places to eat (for a big group) which was great! Also, Dennis from the front desk was very helpful with our group too. The hotel is situated only a few blocks from everything which makes it very easy to get around. The hotel is clean and the complimentary breakfast is a plus! Yes the rooms are a little on the small side but they're CLEAN! My family and I will definetly stay at this property again. And we hope to see Kelly and Dennis (as well as the guy that helps with the bags and breakfast area was great too) again soon! January 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good It was definitely better than my last NYC experience. It was like going to any other hotel. I'm definitely happy I was given recognition for being a priority club member. January 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Location, comfortable and good service It is a economic hotel. Who is used to travel knows that are some this that this kind of hotel does not offer. Whatever, I had a good experience in this hotel. The staff and service are polite and good, the room is comfortable and the space is very well to check if you are shopping too much, because when you start shopping you think your room is too small, maybe you´re shopping too much. The breakfast is simple but enough to have a good one. The location is wonderful I could do everything that I would like by foot. I really appreciate my days in NYC and Holiday Express 45th January 23, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 small room, but great location small room, but great location. It could have laundry and parking. January 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very good location, tiny room advantages: location, breakfast, comfortable room *, kind staff disadvantages: room (*despite well equiped and new, the room (including bathroom) is tiny, specially if you`ve got larger luggage. As long as you don`t have to stay much time in your room, it`s OK. January 21, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Consistent and convenient This is a great location and have stayed here 4 or 5 times over the last several years. The staff has always been very nice and the location is great. Rooms are small but it is NY. It has a European feel and besides who spends time in the room anyway. The beds are comfortable and and room is clean. Breakfast is well, could be better and is at many other Holiday Inn Express but all in all it is a good place to stay when you visit NYC January 21, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Small, but good location The room was very small, and offered no view (except nextdoor buildng and alley). Room was clean and neat, but small. No exercise facility or pool, but location very convient to Rockefeller, Fifth Ave shopping, and Times Sq. Breakfast was good and nice extra to have in NYC. I needed a bottle opener for my room, and was given one (thanks) , but staff called after perhaps 15min asking for the bottle opener back. (no thanks, I had a six-pack bottle beer.) January 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable and excelent I like this hotel! Variety of breakfast. Staff and service is excellent January 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location at an affordable price Staff was friendly and helpful, but breakfast items were limited and there was no breakfast room (breakfast was essentially a few tables in the crowded lobby). Comfortable bed, but room on the smaller side, even for New York City. Nevertheless, I would recommend for travelers on a limited budget. January 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn over the holiday We currently stayed at the Holiday Inn at 45th St in NYC over the holiday break with our 3 children (ages 12, 14, and 17). Check-in was very easy, although one of our 2 rooms (they ONLY have rooms for 4 people as do most other hotels in NYC) was not ready until 6 that night. Rooms are small but clean. It is an older building, but well maintained. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were updated. One of the tv's in one of the rooms was not working properly, but not a big deal because we weren't in the rooms that long. I did call the front desk about it and they offered to send a technician. Front desk clerks were extremely friendly and were able to answer any questions that we had about the hotel and the city. Cleaning person was outstanding and we loved her, although we didn't get her name. Breakfast was typical HI breakfast and was good, ready, and plentiful when we ate. Check-out was also easy and were allowed late check-out for one of our rooms so that we could enjoy some last minute sight-seeing with ease of no luggage. A great trip and would stay here again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Adequate at best This hotel is crammed tight with little space to move around. The rooms are so small that if you have more than one person in them, It is virtually impossible to function. We had to get breakfast and bring it to our room because there is never any space available to sit and enjoy breakfast. And there are some many poeple and so little help that the selections for breakfast are always out. Also the lobby is so small that if there is anyone checking in or out you cannot get down the all to the elevators. And with 22 floors and only 2 elevators, you wind up taking the first availble elevator regardless if it is going up or down just to get a spot. From a NYC standpoint I here this is normal, but from my experiences with the Holiday Inn Express brand, this hotel was significantly lacking. January 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent location and service! The staff and service levels at this facility are the best I've experienced at a Holiday Inn Express location. Willing to provide directions, check baggage, and always smile while working. Excellent location makes all key area sites within walking distance and the subway is a short walk away also. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by NYC in December Check in with Dennis was amazing! Very helpful! Assistance with car service to the airport was great. Breakfast was sooo crowded. Room was small but clean-didn't spend that much time in there anyway! December 26, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean Room, comfortable bed, nice staff While many reviews I read before I stayed said the rooms are small, which is true but not unexpected in NYC, this hotel has a great location, it is clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was VERY nice. It is close to Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Bryant Park and Grand Central Station. I would stay in this hotel again any time I am in NYC. The only thing I didn't like was that breakfast was in the lobby and every time the door opened the cold air came in and made me chilly...but I guess I shouldn't complain since breakfast was free...and good. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value for price and close to everything I would recommend this hotel, its was an excellent value. It was very close in walking distance to everything. The noise level was low we could never hear anyone on the street and we stayed on the 6th floor. The breakfast was fresh and was kept filled up. The best part was the STAFF!!!!!! They helped up with the maps and even walked out of the hotel to make sure we went the right direction. THE STAFF ROCKS!!!! December 15, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Trip My two girls and I enjoyed our first trip to NYC. Staff wonderful, desk staff even hailed a cab for me at 5AM in the morning to catch a train home. That is service excellence at it's best. Great selection of breakfast items. Really enjoyed the paper that was delivered to our door every morning. Very clean facility, rooms a bit small but we weren't there to sit in the room. Will definitely stay there again. Great location. Thank you to all of the wonderful courteous staff. December 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great location and service When in NYC I don't spend much time in the room but want a clean, safe and affordable hotel. Staff was great in holding bags when we arrived early and departed late. Staff also sercured limo to JFK and that service was excellent. Couldn't ask for a better location. Will stay again. December 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Experience Although small (but to be expected in NYC), the room was very comfortable and had everything I needed for a fun NYC getaway. The hotel was a short walk to Times Square and Rockefellar Center. Getting a taxi was fairly easy as well. If not availalble outside the entrance, a short walk to the nearest cross street proved successful. I was able to walk directly from Penn Station to the hotel in a very short amount of time. The included breakfast was great. It was very crowded in the lobby each morning but that is to be expected. I was able to use my priority club reward points for this room during a peak season for visitors to NYC. I will definitely stay at this location again. December 11, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location in NYC The hotel is perfectly located between Times Square, Grand Central, Bryan Park, Radio City. We were able to walk almost everywhere...even to Central Park to ice skate! And the breakfast was a wonderful bonus.Would definitely stay again. December 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Time in NYC We always stay on the Upper West Side but decided to switch to the Holiday Inn Express to experience all of the Christmas festivities . It was a wonderful idea. The hotel was "compact" but clean, neat, a wonderful staff and free breakfast. The location is the best ! Next door there is a Zagat award winning Italian restaurant and across the street a cute "surfer" bar with all of the music, videos and a good happy hour. We can't wait to return next year ! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel and Location We really enjoyed our stay in the city. The hotel was located close to everything whic made it very easy to sight see. Rooms were on the small side, but as we all know, space can be limited in the ciy. December 7, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and great service This hotel is within walking distance of Times Square and Rockefeller Center. The rooms are very well kept and quite comfortable. Breakfast is the usual Holiday Inn Express fare, but is very good and the breakfast area is well stocked. The staff is friendly and helpful. We look forward to visiting again. December 5, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A NYC DECEMBER TO REMEMBER IN THIS AWESOME HOTEL THIS HOTEL WAS VERY CLOSE TO WHERE ALL THE ACTION IS. IT'S RIGHT NEAR TIMES SQUARE AND WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO CENTRAL PARK. I LOVED THE HOT BREAKFAST WITH PANCAKES, EGG WITH CHEESE OMELETTE, SAUSAGE, BACON AND VARIOUS BREADS LIKE MINI MUFFINS, CROISSANTS, MINI APPLE STREUSEL, CINNABUNS. THEY HAD BOILED EGGS, OATMEAL, HOT CHOCOLATE, 24 HOUR COFFEE AND TEA. FRUIT SELECTION CONSIST OF APPLES AND BANANAS. THEY HAD YOGURT AND SKIM MILK. THIS HOTEL EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATION IN TERMS OF CLEANLINESS, COURTEOUS STAFF AND GREAT SERVICE AND CLEAN UPDATED ROOMS AND BATHROOMS. FLAT SCREEN TV WITH ALL THE PREMIUM CHANNELS, IRON AND BOARD, MINI COFFEE MAKER, HAIR DRYER AND FREE INTERNET IN ROOM. THERE'S ALSO A BUSINESS CENTER WITH FREE USE OF COMPUTER AND PRINTER IN THE LOWER LEVEL. LATE CHECKOUT CAN BE REQUESTED IF AVAILABLE FOR PRIORITY REWARDS GUESTS. THEY ALSO OFFER CONCIERGE SERVICE FOR YOUR LUGGAGE SAFEKEEP AFTER CHECKOUT. WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE WITH THIS HOTEL? December 3, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Great place to stay in NYC This few days getaway with my wife was great, the hotel was part of the fun although the room was a bit small. December 3, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and value I chose this particular hotel for its location. I needed to be close to Times Square so I could be close to the TKTS Discount ticket booths. I had planned to see Broadway shows and Radio City. Also, it is within walking distance to Radio City. December 1, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location Stayed one night after Thanksgiving weekend. The room was small but very clean, neat and modern. Quiet too as we asked for a room NOT overlooking the street and as high as possible (we got the 12th floor). The staff were excellent, couldn't do enough for us. Kept our luggage so we could sightsee before check in time, then kept it the following day after we checked out and before we started our journey home. Didn't eat breakfast as the small lobby area was very full but the choices looked good. The location is great for many things, Times Square, Broadway, 5th Avenue, etc. Would highly recommend this hotel. November 30, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pillows were amazing !! We had a wonderful stay during our family Thanksgiving trip to NYC ! The Macys Parade was our focus; the HIE was a perfect location for that ! Staff was attentive to our needs and the breakfast was fantastic; great variety ! We would definitely recc this hotel to families traveling for the Macys parade or otherwise. Ideal location; thanks again for a wonderful stay ! The Johnsons November 30, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel and great location We have stayed here before and keep coming back!! Hotel is in a great location and the staff is great! I would suggest this hotel to everyone! November 28, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful location and comfort We had a great trip to NYC at Thanksgiving, and we especially enjoyed our first floor room. I don't know if we scored this by being platinum members, but it did look like waiting for the elevator might have been an issue otherwise. HIE breakfast is not my favorite, but the coffee at least was much better than I normally find at these hotels. The room itself was very up to date, and the bed was super comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. All in all, the location is great for seeing the midtown part of the city, with easy walks to Times Square and theaters, shopping, Central Park, and MOMA, and the subway is three blocks away. November 28, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location I came for an interview and chose this hotel because of it's convenient central location; lots of great shopping just a short walk away! Drugstore across the street which was nice for replenishing toiletries, even if it was overpriced like everything else in NY. Lots of nearby food options and a Starbucks too. I crammed a lot of sightseeing into 2 days and the thought of using the subway or bus was too terrifying, but walking everywhere was very doable. My room was clean and I was very satisfied with the customer service at the front desk. Appreciated the gift bag for Priority Club members and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast was usually crowded but well stocked and every time I was there I saw them bringing out more food. Would stay here again! November 27, 2012
