Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Location, Friendly Staff, Courteous Service We had an enjoyable stay at this HI Express for a couple of nights. Our selection of it was based on its walking distance proximity to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum which we wanted to visit as our prime interest to visit the Big Apple. Overall, we had a pleasant and enjoyable stay. The Front Desk staff was very friendly and courteous with their greetings, check-in and check-out service. Buffet breakfast was excellent to start our day with. Our room, however, was very small and we had a tough time stashing our normal luggage without tripping over concerns; for the room price we paid, we expected HI to offer better/bigger room! Location is convenient for Wall Street / South Street Seaport. Pay for breakfast elsewhere. Breakfast room way too small, food quality was okay if you like fake eggs and turkey sausages. She is now working in the city and living in Brooklyn, but we enjoy staying in Lower Manhattan as opposed to midtown or uptown. Excellent location, near 24-hour drugstores with food snacks, a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, and food trucks/shops. Close to several subway stations on Wall Street, and a few blocks from either South Seaport or Battery Park. It's nice to walk one block to the East River bikeway/walkway and stroll along the river. The rooms are comfortable, though we did have to fiddle with the A/C to adjust temperatures. The breakfast staff (Sonia) is outstanding and patient. The current front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. August 5, 2014

We've stayed at other Holiday Inn properties in the City and the Water Street location is by far the best property in the City. Can you say awesome service! The staff is beyond polite and they are always able to accommodate any special requests that we may have. For those who complain about noise - YOU are in the City! For those who complain about room size - YOU are in the City! Our rooms have always been a good size and it has never been noisy. This is great property to stay at. August 5, 2014

I ask the front desk to be moved to a larger room and I was told that the room we were in was the largest room they had. If you are traveling alone the room would be good but for 2 adult people it is entirely to small. We had to squat over the toilet to get in the bathroom and close the door. The bath tub should have a slip resistant mat put in the tub for safety reason for older people. July 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Excellent Hotel with Great Staff and Great Service! Stayed in this hotel for nearly 12 days and got to say the stay throughout was wonderful. The rooms though a bit small are very comfortable with all required amenities. They've got a wonderful front desk who are very helpful. Make sure to get their views on good close by attractions to visit. They are even sweet enough to map out or print the directions for you. They've a got a really good complimentary breakfast with a very helpful and cheerful lady chef :) I would highly recommend this hotel as the location is great (very close to subway) and the staff is wonderful :) Tip - Try to get a room on a lower floor cz the elevators take ages to come. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff and good location The staff at this hotel is outstanding. From the front desk personnel to the lady in the breakfast area. All are smiling, friendly and willing to go the extra mile. The lady in the breakfast area is always smiling, chatting when she sees customers want to, and some don't want to until they've had their coffee. She does a great job. The desk personnel is great. My wife and I needed quarters for the bus. They hadn't had a chance to get to the bank yet and didn't have a roll of quarters. Instead they gave us 2 $5 metro cards which is exactly what we needed. They went the extra mile. Hotel is very close to tourist areas. 9/11 memorial is very close as is all of Wall Street. Internet was fast for downloads. Would stay here again with this staff. Breakfast hours were long enough that I could eat before my early days and on the day I got to sleep in some. I had no problems checking in or out and both were very quick. The staff answered my questions and helped me while being very professional and polite. The only down side is the parking. Metered was way too much and the recommended garage only offered a $6 discount, so I paid $30 each night I parked regardless of how late I got back or how early I left. July 23, 2014

Rooms are practical for business traveler and nice thing about is cleanliness. Morning breakfast was 'complete' and enjoyable. The decor can be better though space constraint in the prime location may be uppermost on minds of owners - regarding the size of the room and cost attached to it. Overall - comfortable stay. The staff is friendly, engaging, and customer focused, and the associate who ran the breakfast area really made everyone feel at home, as she interacted positively with everyone in the most friendliest way - we loved that! this Holiday Inn Express is one to remember the next time we head into the city. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Weekend Location Upon arrival, I was very disappointed to learn that our room request for three people could not be fulfilled as they had overbooked and larger rooms are in limited supply. Staff, however, went right to work to resolve this issue. Our first attempt wouldn't work, but in no time they came up with an alternate solution that alleviated the problem. I would have preferred to breeze through check in, but given the situation, I was very happy with management's customer service resolve. July 15, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value in New York and great front desk staff Very warmly welcomed apron arrival and each time I came back to the hotel during my 2 week stay here. The complimentary breakfast is what I expect from the Holiday Inn Express chain and the weekday Breakfast Hostess was very helpful, always stepping in to help me as soon as she saw me arrive, as I am a wheelchair customer. I did not get this same level of help in the weekend, which was disappointing, as it was hard to manage by myself. Overall it was a good experience and I would stay here again as getting anywhere in Manhattan was very easy as all buses are wheelchair accessible as is the nearest subway station (as long as the lifts are working!) Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EXCELLENT STAFF Stayed at a lot more luxurious, roomy hotels, but this HIEXPRESS had the most attentive, helpful and absolute BEST manager, front desk, kitchen staff, etc. I so appreciated their help in holding our luggage, helping us get Broadway show tickets, giving us directions to where we needed to go, etc, etc. They were all just so kind and generous in spirit! They made our time in NYC even better! I don't write reviews often, but they deserve to be applauded! :) July 8, 2014
