This is a great place to stay as an alternative to staying in Cardiff when Wales are playing in the Millennium Stadium on rugby days.
Plenty of parking, bus every 20mins across the road, into Cardiff.
The staff go out of their way to make you welcome and a valued guest. Friend even, after so many visits!!! If time permits, they will always talk rugby.
Shame there were not more people staying at the hotel on our last visit.... maybe people were put off by a minimum 2 days stay -we were unable to book for just one night.
Thank you once again, we always have a lovely time at the hotel.

Stayed here on 24th January 2013 and can only say how impressed we were. Ultra modern, spotless, excellent staff, beautiful modern and comfortable rooms with an ample free breakfast. Definitely recommend and shall certainly return.

Having stayed here at least 2 weeks out of every month since April, 2012 I can honestly comment on this being a good hotel, friend staff, clean comfortable rooms. Food good, hot and good size portions. The Menu is being changed and some favourites being replaced. Will report on this after next stay.

We use this hotel regularly. With breakfast for the family included in the price, it's amazing value for money. Rooms are perfectly adequate for a short stay.

Very good rooms and good customer service, the bar and snacks area was open till 4.00 a.m.
The breakfast area was good and included a good selection of food.

I stayed here on a midweek night before a job interview and was very impressed with the friendliness and helpful nature of the staff. I had a warm welcome from the front desk, the room was extremely clean and well arranged.
I enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant, and did some work in the evening to prepare for my interview and got an early night in the comfortable bed.
The next morning I had a good breakfast and went to my interview refreshed.
Last week I found out I got the job, so thanks Holiday Inn!

Excellent reception greeting. Room was spotless and comfortable and the en suite was just as clean. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices! Cant complain! Will definitely use again, and the bonus - parking was not a problem!

i stay at the Newport Holiday Inn on a regular basis and find the staff welcoming and the hotel clean and comfortable. There are many hotels to choose from in the area and the Newport Holiday Inn is excellent value and well worth a stay.

We had booked 3 rooms for the recent Rugby International - Unfortunately 2 of the party were unable to come due to Hospitalisation.
The staff at the HI and in particular the Duty Manager could not have been more sympathetic and helpful to our situation and in allowing us to relinquish one of the rooms. We have used this Hotel on previous occasions and have always found the staff friendly and most helpful and the facilities first class.
Breakfasts are good and plentiful and, although a little way out of Cardiff the bus links are very good and inexpensive.
It is rare these days to have good service and it is a credit to the whole team at HI that they helped to make our stay a very pleasant one indeed.
We look forward to our next visit and maybe a victory for the Welsh team !!!

Quite a new Express.
Express not my normal choice but this one actually has a very well laid out reception / Bar area. Its actually enjoyable to sit there and relax.
the staff do make you welcome and you are not treated as just another traveller.
Rooms as you would expect from an Express.

The hotel is clean with good parking and friendly staff. There is a pub next door which does a good range of food in the evenings. My only negative comment about the hotel is the breakfast - it's the same every day -- Sausages and Scrambled Egg get a bit boring day after day - I think it's the only UK hotel I have stayed in that doesn't have bacon or fried eggs !
Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable.so no complaints there, especially as this is a Holiday Inn 'Express' so is not supposed to be 4* !

The hotel is pretty standard for an Holiday Inn Express but the greeting and reception service was the best I have experienced.
They really made us feel welcome and like a returning valued customer.
Highly recommended.

OMG service is a description that covers all its services on offer. Staff are of exceptional qualities.
The room fresh and airy,bedding of excellent quality, given a restfull and exremely enjoyable stay.
We reccomend this holiday inn express as an A STAR PLUS

We found our stay at this Hotel very comfortable. The Staff were very friendly and efficient making our stay a most relaxing and enjoyable one.Free car parking and ease of access to from motorway was a bonus.

I'm a regular guest at HIE Newport. Staff are always friendly and efficient, rooms clean and comfortable and the location is great. Breakfast is more than adequate and the bar is a good place to meet colleagues. Overall a reliable experience that makes up for being away from home - thank you.

I have stopped at this hotel many times. The staff have always given me a warm reception and been very helpful. Room comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast food is very good indeed. Plenty of choice and easy to serve yourself. Parking is superb and coveniently situated for visiting both Newport and Cardiff.
