Talked to several of the housekeeping staff and everyone of them were friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean, the linens were fresh and the room smelled clean--not a perfumey clean. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Stay One of the best Holiday Inn Express I have stayed at. I did not have time to visit the pool or gym but my room was very impressive and modern. Hotel staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make the stay comfortable. The only issue I had which was no fault to the hotel were some other guests staying at the hotel as there was a large group of them and they were constantly walking from one room to another room with alcoholic beverages in hand and were a little loud. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I expected more for the price We spent one evening here. Kind of got off to a bad start with the reservation. I called the hotel directly expecting to get the rate offered at the Holiday Inn Express website. Instead, they tried to charge me an additional $10 and would not honor the website price. Arrived mid afternoon and had a smooth check-in. One did not have to look hard to determine this hotel was experiencing a lack of maintenance. Deteriorating walls in the bathroom and holes in the hall carpet spoke to a need for upkeep. Additionally, the sheets would not stay on the bed even though they were fitted sheets. The breakfast was adequate, but that depends on your definition of "hot". If you consider "hot" to be a few degrees above room temperature, then it was "hot". But, there was an abundance of choice. I was very disappointed in that a person walking (and I don't believe they were doing anything abnormal) in the room above us provided a substantial noise level. The staff was congenial and helpful. But, all in all, considering the price we paid, I expected a better facility and more amenities, especially for smaller town. October 27, 2015
