The reason why I am only giving this hotel a "Average" rating is because we stayed at the hotel at the same time a group of volleyball players were. Our hotel room was great, nice and clean and nicely decorated. But, we were unable to get a good night sleep because the volleyball players who were staying upstairs were constantly either doing body slams or smacking the ball against the wall for several hours. They were loud and totally unbearable. We called the front desk a couple of times to complain, to tell the other guest to stop doing what they were doing, but the volleyball players never did until very late (probably from passing out). I felt the hotel staff could have done more in this situation. I don't see how 1 set of guest's rights to cause horrible noise, supersede many other guest's' rights to get a good night sleep. I would have kicked them out and let them stay at another place.

The staff was very kind, they made every attempt to make my wife and I have a great stay. We do think they need to provide hot chocolate with the breakfast. Thanks

Nice hotel, new and clean. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are quite nice.
However, we were given a first floor room, and I told the clerk we usually stay on an upper floor. He told me change is good. I should have insisted, but I took the room.
The "herd of elephants" above us never slept apparently, as the clomping and stomping went on until the wee hours and started again about 6 a.m. Not much noise protection at this hotel.
I would have shared this information with the check-out clerk, but she didn't ask me if I enjoyed my stay. She acted like I was a moron because I handed her my key. "Didn't you get a receipt under your door?" Yes, I did. But I still like a little thank you when I leave. I also like to share my experience, good or bad.

Holiday Inn Express has generally been alright in the past, this trip the pool was cold and the kids were disappointed that there were not pancakes or waffles for breakfast. The pillows were too full.

First off, trying to find the place in the rain, the nav system had me turn right instead of left, which ended in front of another hotel chain on Plaza. I called the Holiday Inn Express for directions and the woman at the front desk kept telling me there was no [named the other chain] anywhere she knew (turned out to be across Veterans Parkway). You'd think that since it was directly across Veterans Parkway and also on Plaza someone might have noticed. Finally found it because she'd mentioned a Walmart, which I finally found after three tries.
The bed was hard as a rock. The only thing that saved me was that by the time I arrived (after midnight because of the rain) I was so exhausted, I could have slept on granite.
The next night, there was a party in a room down the hall with loud people (both adults and children) going up and down the hallway (kids running, adults talking, sometimes arguing, very loudly. This went on four SIX HOURS. I reported it three hours in, but there was no noise abatement.
Would I stay here again? NO...just ...no. And FWIW, we're platinum IHG members, so we're generally fairly fond of this chain and stay at IHG properties often for both business and leisure. Worst IHG property I have EVER stayed in.

When we arrived at 1:30pm I greated "Ben" with "hi, how are you". His response was, "I'm fine unless your wanted to check in early"! We returned at 3pm, his suggestion, and one room was ready, one not.He then offered, in front of me, a better rate to another guest, while he was finishing up with our check in. I requested same rate. And he said, "ok I'll do it but only for one room!!!
It certainly was NOT a welcoming reception.
I've stayed at your properties in the past and very disappointed in this one!

Check in was very fast and friendly. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The indoor pool was just perfect for my teenage daughter and her friend. The breakfast was just fair but was complementary so who am I to complain!
