The lobby is beautiful. The included breakfast was good. Just wish they have some gluten free choices in the baked goods. Although I understand there may not be much demand for it. The room was spotless, and the very comfortable. I've also written a favourable review on Trip Advisor. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Will stay there again.

They clearly don't wash the outside windows often, if ever, as mine was covered in spider webs and a colony of about 20-30 spiders, including 4 pretty big ones. I kind of enjoyed seeing them every afternoon and morning, and even gave the big ones names. However, I can imagine that most people would be completely freaked out by these guys lurking just outside the window..

This was a very comfortable hotel. Our only complaint would be that the water pressure with the shower was very low.
More recognition for being a gold member would also be nice.

We came up to visit family for a reunion. The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast in the morning was a disaster.....the young girl working did not care for cleaning up or re filling the shelves. No bread yogurt or jam. The orange juice was diluted as water and the pancake machine didn't work. Too bad the price of the room included breakfast as we would prefer to go out to eat after that experience.

Upon arrival, all was ready for a speedy check-in. The front desk associate was friendly and helpful with directions for places to go. The room was easy to find, and I can honestly say the most dust free hotel room I have ever seen! I couldn't believe how easy it was for me to breathe when I woke up, there just wasn't any dust to be found! That was impressive! The toiletries were the standard I've found at my other recent Holiday Inn stays. I do not like the intrusive fragrance of them, but I suppose Bath & Body Works is popular with most. That was probably the best bathroom lighting of any hotel I've stayed in. Breakfast was fantastic. It was ready early, continually well stocked and the same great assortment I've come to expect from this chain. I have to admit I always enjoy having a go at the pancake machine. Great novelty! The only negative would be the coffee maker in the guest room. I don't understand how anyone would expect me to make a beverage in a rusted appliance. Luckily I wasn't in the room much. Otherwise, if you're looking for a place to stay in North Bay, this is a fine choice!

Clean well appointed hotel with the smallest swimming pool I have ever been in ...rec facilities are very disappointing and to be honest I cannot eat the pre cooked chemical food served for breakfast plastic eggs and whatever it is they call sausage ...but its best hotel in north bay comfortable rooms and very friendly and helpful staff.
Personally I'd rather not be all inclusive and pay less and go eat somewhere else ( which I do anyway)

1. Choice of Breakfast at this location was below standard. I had recently stayed at Holiday Inn, Ottawa and Montreal. The choice of breakfast there was much better.
2. Even though I am a platinum member , but I am never offered complimentary water bottle or snacks at this hotel. However I am always offered snacks and drinks at other Holiday Inn properties , I have stayed ( Hamilton, Ottawa, Montreal ).

Once again had a Very pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn, right from when I checked in and needed help in clearing up my mix-up in reservation, to seeing a familiar friendly face at breakfast in the morning!! It almost feels like going home!! We'll be back!!

We have stayed here several times before and with three people scheduled to stay for 5 nights we asked for a refrigerator. We didn't get a room with a refigerator, we had a smaller room than expected and felt cramped especially considering the price paid. We checked out after 2 nights and got a bigger room, as nice, but with a refigerator and $40 less per night.

A basic property close to the highways. Had an ok stay, but was disappointed with size and configuration of what was supposed to be a "King Suite". In fact, it is not a suite at all, but rather the same as a slightly longer regular hotel room with a microwave and sink, neither of which I used. I have also not received my priority club points for this stay. Just a post stay survey from IHG, which made no provision for comment on either of those fails.
Aside from that, staff were friendly and helpful, especially in the breakfast room. Decent breakfast included in room rate. Two table lamps didn't work but were repaired a few hours later. The pool was not heated. Hallway noise was loud, but not frequent, as the hotel was almost empty. It would be a problem with higher occupancy.
If I were to return I would book the cheapest possible room, as the "suite" was not worth the extra money.

Platinum Priority Club member; our 3rd stay here; although this was a Rewards Night, we were automatically upgraded prior to our arrival to a King Bed Suite. Reception desk staff very pleasant & professional. Our suite & washroom super clean, bathtub sparkling clean which is especially important to me; stylish & comfortable furnishings in our Suite looked brand new; good selection of pillows & very comfortable bed & linens, all of which made for a very quiet & restful sleep . I noticed that carpeting in hallways & our room was impeccably clean ... all of this to say that this hotel is obviously very well maintained & that cleanliness & freshness are top priorities. Attendant @ breakfast was extremely cheerful & pleasant, and I noticed that she greeted all guests coming in & acknowledged those that she had met on their previous stays at the hotel- nice to see that your return business is noticed & appreciated. Coffee in breakfast room was excellent & good selection of breakfast items. Also a very convenient location, just a short 3-second drive off Highway 17, very close to a major mall and within walking distance to a few good restaurants & Tim Horton's. We've stayed at several hotels in North Bay, and this is by far our 1st choice!

every thing was very good, big rooms, very clean, great staff always helpful. right off the major highway, easy to get to. My only problem is I think they should have more sports channels to watch on TV. the golf channel would be a nice addition to the selection of channels

The lobby floor and and much of the first floor commons were REALLY dirty with sand and salt from 4pm till late. Despite 3 staff looking not too busy at times nobody thought to go from behind their desks or computers and do the dirty work that it takes to be a truly top flight hotel.
This is poor management.
The place is new the meeting rooms were great and the rooms were clean.

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express many times over the last 2 years. We decided we love your rooms and the staff are always helpful and welcoming. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in North Bay before as our son lives in North bay going to college. This time when we arrived the front counter girl (Brittney was her name) She welcomed my husband and I and proceeded to book us in. She noticed that we are Gold Members and asked if we wanted complimentary water, I said yes...she proceeded to give me 1 bottle of water. My husband was not offered a bottle and as far as I am concerned what is 1 more bottle of water for the amount of money we pay to stay in your rooms. She then gave us our room Key and put us in room 526. We went upstairs to our room, and for some reason our key would not work. I went back down and told the girl our key didn't work so she RE-PROGRAMED the key again and we went up once more to finally rest and that's when we heard a hair dryer running in the room. They had gave away our room to someone else. When we went back down to the front counter the girl looked confused and said I cannot believe your room was given away. She then stared at her computer for almost 3 to 4 minutes. She finally put us in a room on the first floor. I was not impressed at all. The first floor was noisy and drafty I will be requesting to never be put on the first floor ever again. Like I have said we love your franchise and will not stray, but I believe mistakes like this one could deter some people from coming back. When you arrive to your destination after driving for 4 hrs in the snow all you can think about is sitting back and relax. Not stand there worried your not going to have a place to sleep.

We did not like our stay at this hotel at all. We had stayed previously at the Holiday Inn Express in New Liskeard and the experience was excellent. This is why we booked the same hotel in North Bay. We feel that every hotel should offer the same service and types of rooms..etc However, this was not the case. The rooms that are labelled suites are not suites. They have a couch, a microwave and a fridge that does not work. This is not a suite in our opinion. Suites should have french doors and seperate living spaces. There was not even another tv where the couch was. It was loud, dated, and we will never stay there again.
We also did not get any recognition as Priority Club Members...like water...etc Pool area was cold and dirty.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn North Bay for one night. I am a Gold Club Member and I was not offered anything compared to other Holiday Inn's ie; water, popcorn etc. I was very dissapointed there was no fridge or microwave in the room.
The Wi-fi was so slow , I finally gave up and shut my computer down.
There was barely enough hot water to have a bath and it took a full 15 mins to full the tub.
The doors are very thin as I heard other guests in the hallway as though they were right in my room and it was just normal volume conversation.
The bench right in front of the entrance was the spot for all the smokers so you had to walk through smoke to gain entrance to the hotel.
The bed was aweful!! I have come to love Holiday Inns for thier amenities as well as thier comfortable beds and these beds were by far the worst.
The only positive note I have for this hotel is for the ladies in the breakfast area, they were very pleasant and extrememly efficient.

Stayed at this hotel for a week in June - wifi was extremely slow, which staff explained was due to the hotel being full. On a second stay in October, had the same problem and was told the same thing. When I questioned further, was told this is an ongoing issue. The hotel just does not have the capacity to deliver adequate wifi. Btw on the second stay the boiler broke down and had to move to another hotel at 10 pm.

I would recommend your motel, but give friends a heads up about the beds.
My overall stay was very enjoyable, the motel was very clean and staff where pleasant and polite I particularly enjoyed how sound proof the rooms where. It was unfortunate that I had to check out two nights earlier, due to hot water not being available for 24hrs, but it happens, equipment breaks down.
My two down falls where the bed and the room privacy. I was very dissapointed in the quality and comfort of the mattress, it felt like I was sleeping on a box spring. The other was that the privacy curtains where only there for show and not closable? If you are in the rooms facing the Home Depot parking lot, lights turn on at 4 am and light up the whole room. Having to go in the bathroom to change was also a drag. The store has long hours and clients in parking lot have a full view of our rooms. My room was located on the 2nd floor, 217 if my memory is good. My co-worker was in 219 and had the same complaint.
