Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Three day trip to New York City My wife and i stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and what a pleasant surprise. I say surprise as this is a major tourist area and sometimes this can create a negative attitude for the staff or the traveler. From the time we walked in the door until we left I thought this was the best stay I h ave had and we travel for five to six months of the year and use hotels a lot. The reception at the front counter was perfect, friendly and helpful in every way, the room service was perfect and the room was in my opinion above standard for the price,,,clean, comfortable, secure etc; When I thought things could not get better we went for breakfast and it was perfect. The variety was more than enough, the two ladies in the breakfast area were the best. They asked us if they could help, if we needed anything else, and offered there assistance if we thought we needed something that we did not see there. I am a grandparent of four young grandchildren and would take them here simply for the ease at the breakfast room and the friendly service over all. My wife and I could not ask for a better place to stay. Top shelf. So happy we did not stay in New York City. This place gave us the rest and comfort we needed to go flat out in New York the days we were there. The buses were close and very good. March 28, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by VERY GOOD Room was comfortable, staff friendly. Great recommendation on a nearby restaurant. Only complaint would be that there were a few bus loads of school children staying there at the same time and it made it impossible to get a hot breakfast and make it to my meeting on time. I cut the line to grab a bagel to have in the car, the bagel was very stale. March 23, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel, shame about the location This hotel has great parking, a pool, and a gym. They offer complimentary coffee in the lobby and serve an average breakfast in the mornings. The staff are extremely helpful and can help you with your travel plans to get into New York City. The location of the hotel is not great, it is surrounded by main roads, and there is a lot of litter on the streets. We were warned against going to the closest bar, and instead took a 20m walk to a lovely diner on the recommendation of one of the staff. Would probably not return to the hotel because of the location and difficulty to return from a night in Manhattan. March 21, 2015

I had to play each channel to see what program was on it Staff was excellent throughout my stay, in terms of information provided on local transportation and dining out. March 18, 2015
