From the front desk staff Justin and Rick to the breakfast staff to the cleaning staff. Everyone comes to work with the goal of exceeding the guests expectations. In that department the entire staff really rocks. Would like to see breakfast ham or bacon on the breakfast selection. Thanks staff for making our stay very enjoyable. You are the reason we will pick you for our stays in N. Charleston.

Great location for business and pleasure, close to restaurants, mall, movie theater, and downtown Charleston. Great staff from the front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast attendant. Breakfast choices are your regular fare but kept fresh. Was in town on business with the family and felt safe having my family at the hotel during the day while I was at work. The kids enjoyed the pool and great TV lineup. Would recommend as I will be staying here during my next Charleston trip.

I have spent close to 70 days at this hotel already this year, and that in itself says it all! I don´t usually write long reviews, but I do feel that in this case, it´s worth dedicating the time to do so.
My overall experience is of course excellent, and I am more than happy to recommend :) The team is what makes this hotel what it is. From Sequoia & Tyrone in the morning, to Rick & Justin in the afternoon and not forgetting the Michaels/Mikes by night, these troops are always on top form-bright, bubbly, obliging, helpful & just genuinely friendly to say the least. There are a whole other bunch of weekend and breakfast staff, with whom my interactions have been fewer but also very positive!
Now let me get to the fewer stars which is what many people are interested in...and these are really nothing to panic about at all!
Breakfast: my 3 stars for breakfast has a very simple explanation. I am a dairy allergic celiac and therefore cannot eat anything with dairy and/or gluten. Sometime between my visit last year and my first visit this year, gluten free bagels and muffins appeared in the buffet...FANTASTIC!! Overcoming the dairy obstacle is the next step, and I did mention this to the Manager. He seemed very interested and willing to oblige on this so who knows, there may be soya milk there any day now :) I understand that this is probably a cultural thing more than anything else and us Europeans are allergic to just about everything. Summarising all of the above...if you are allergen free, this breakfast is perfect, varied and filling...YOU WILL NOT GO HUNGRY!!
Sleep Quality: Generally speaking, I get a really good nights sleep at this hotel, the beds and pillows are comfortable, I turn OFF the AC, and pull the dark curtins. The minus 1 star is really just for the train that passes during the night-I don´t think this is excessively close to the hotel, but if you are a light sleeper you may hear it. Obviously there is nothing anyone can really do about this. The other point is that the hotel is always full, and at the weekend there are a lot of kids and competition teams and sometimes it can get a little crazy. I have absolutely nothing against this and it´s great to see, but the odd time at night, their excitement is bouncing through the hallways! Again, this is quite exceptional and out of 70 nights, a couple is really not that bad!
Relaxation: Again no big deal, but this hotel is a busy place, full of business travellers during the week and families and teams during the weekends, I don´t think it´s main purpose is relaxation. There is a small pool out the back if you feel like hanging out at the hotel during the weekends etc, but it fills up quite quick, so don´t bank on always getting a space out there. It is true that most people will take off to the beach, but if 7 or 8 more people decide to have a lazy day when you do, then space can be limited.
All in all I dont have a bad word to say about 7670 Northwoods Blvd, it´s been my home away from home for many weeks during the first half of 2015, and they really have made it feel that way. The holiday inn has really done a superb job in training and selecting its team and couple this with their natural down to earth, friendly nature and customer service skills, they truly are your most valuable asset-look after them, they are a credit to you. Thanks team for looking after me, for taking my mail, for holding my luggage and for all your hard work, you are a huge part of my grá (Irish for love) for Charleston and I do hope to have the opportunity to return in the future :)
