We arrived there about 7pm, and were told to go into dining room to help ourselves to lovely hot veg. soup and sandwiches, and coffee. Very welcome after a long drive, and the first time we have been offered this at any Holiday Inn Express. A nice touch!!
On the downside, when we tried to set the bedside clock - we found it very difficult, as it was some kind of I-pod combination alarm, radio etc., etc., When we finally set it, it gave off a bright glow that illuminated the whole room all through the night. Kind of put us off our sleep. Finally had to cover it up with a t-shirt at 4am. I think they need to get rid of those, and go with a regular digital alarm!! Would suggest to anyone staying there to unplug the whole thing.

We have been going to this Holiday Inn Express every month now for the past year. We are extremely satisified every time we visit. The staff are always pleasent. We consider this our home away from home.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Would Stay there Again
Overall my stay at this hotel was nice. The hotel itself had a nice lobby, complementary breakfast has a decent assortment and the room was clean. As far as near by restaurants and shops near by this would not be the hotel for you. However, there is a small independent bar-restaurant next door only steps away from the front door. They do have a pool table there and dinner wasn't bad.
One could drive may 5 miles south on I-90 to find a more popular restaurants and shops. For my business trip it was a great place to stay. The price was excellence for this type of hotel and I found the place very relaxing.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tine hotel staff went above and beyond with service
I would like to comment on a very positive experience I had at Holiday Inn Express North East/ Erie PA when my husband and I spent the night March 18th. We came in from an ice storm and had decided to stay the night rather than continuing on further north in the terrible weather. I was so pleasantly surprised when we were invited by the front desk staff to help ourselves to a bowl of home made vegetable-chicken soup that they had simmering in a crock pot in the breakfast room along with wraps and even home made cookies for dessert! The last thing I wanted to do was return to the car and the nasty outdoors to find a place to eat in this rather small town where the hotel is located. The lady at the front desk went out of her way to be friendly and the gesture to provide food to tired travelers is something I have never experienced at a hotel before. While the hotel itself appears to be somewhat older and could stand a few upgrades, I must say the staff and service and the offer of that little home cooked meal by far gives them an 11 out of 10 for the question: how did you enjoy your stay. I LOVED IT! In our busy world today, such a kind "old fashioned" gesture is so much appreciated.

I really enjoy the pool and hot tub. It is one of the primary reasons why I come back each time my work takes me to Erie.
Thanks

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Deb8160 Very nice stay
The best thing about the location is that the staff is amazing. They were so open and helpful and quick to respond to every need. Thanks to all of them!
The facility itself was very nice. It's beautifully clean, has wonderful amenities and the best breakfast anywhere.
I will say there were a few issues. The picture on the internet is extremely deceptive. If you are coming up toward the hotel from Rt 5 or 20, it looks NOTHING like the pictures. Not to mention that it is jammed up against an extremely sketchy looking motel that apparently belongs to the same owners. There is also a scary restaurant/bar in the parking lot.
We were there during a snow storm. The parking lot is all downhill from the doors. It was difficult navigating it when it was icy. Carrying luggage or not.
When we opened the sofa-bed in our room, all the springs fell off that hold the canvas that holds the mattress. The fridge in the room only cooled to luke warm. They did offer immediately to move us but we were tired and decided to fix the bed ourselves and just go with it.
Over all, great hotel and stay with a few problems that can be fixed and a few that can't. We recommend it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bruces03 By Far The Best Holiday Inn Experience To Date
I have stayed in countless number of Holiday Inn's and am a Platinum Priority Club member with almost 80,000 priority points.
This was the best experience I have had to date.
I was greeted as a priority club member upon my arrival. I was given a very nice goodie bag that included water, chips, candy bar. The front desk clerk then informed me they had hot soup and sandwiches, cookies and drinks in the lounge area for me as well.
The pool, Hot tub and Sauna were clean and refreshing.
Everything about this Hotel was excellent.

We travel a lot and always stay at Holiday Inn Express. But, we visit North East a lot since we moved away from there and this is our favorite Holiday Inn Express! It has a spa, sauna and pool. Very clean and friendly - soup, sandwiches or wraps and cookies fromm 4-7 and a wonderful buffet breakfast. Fresh fruit available 24/7 and a beautiful view of Lake Erie.

I have stayed at Holiday Inn Express Hotels and have had good experiences at all of them. We decided to drive a little further and I know that there was a holiday inn express close to the Pennsylvania border. If it wasn't a late check-in and we didn't want to drive further, I would not of spent the night at this location. Would I recommend this location or ever stay here again the answer is no. If you want an excellent location my recommendations is to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Grove City. Excellent choice..

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Winter Storm Haven
My family and I were traveling to Saratoga, NY from Cleveland and hit terrible weather right from the get go. Took 4 hours to get to hotel , normally a 2 hour drive.
Upon check in, the front desk staff was so welcoming. She indicated she was keeping the pool open late. My two kids loved it.
After a great night rest, I awoke to find that my car had cleared of snow. So AWSEOME!
Upon departing, the staff gave us bottled water and pretzels for the kids.
Thank you!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gredal Great place to stop between Buffalo and Cleveland
This is my favorite place to stop when I travel east or west on the I-90 and want to have a friendly place to stop with a clean, comfortable bed, a nice pool /hot tub, and a decent breakfast. There is even a local watering hole next door where you can grab a bite and a cold beer.
It is quite close to the I-90 so you might hear some road noise but the rooms are well built so it is quieter than most hotels. The staff are always friendly and helpful and there is a treat bag for priority club members. I have stayed 6 or more times here and it is very consistent quality.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 2kidsmom room sopen yet we were next to the elevator
We recently checked in with a 2 and a 3 year old. We discovered our room was next to an elevator, which we did hear most of the night. What was bad was that the next morning as my 2 year old was up at 5 am, the staff member (who was friendly) informed us to feel free to roam becuae no one was checked in on the first floor! Why they would fill the room next to the elevator with other room open I do not know.
There were also a couple of incidents where the cleaning staff hopped on the elevator with their large cart and left us to wait for the next one with the said 2 and 3 year olds (and 2 older cousins) wet from the pool.
Overall, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable but the staff, while they were friendly, were not usually thinking about making the guests at home.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bawb Dirty bathroom
I believe cleaning is very poor at this property, the floor in the bathroom had built up dirt ?? , the walls inthe shower were not clean (gubber on wall)
Dirtiest bathroom in at least 5 years or 200 room nites, i do not believe it was up to HI standards.
Will not stay there again.
I notice eastern properties are far below the standards of western properties which tend to be newer.
