Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jim211009 HI Express North Kansas City
Pros - Clean comfortable rooms, in room refrigerator and microwave. Great breakfast. Great location. This HI Express was converted from another hotel. It was not constructed as a Holiday Inn Express.
Cons - one elevator, small pool, no hot tub, inadequate parking spaces, small breakfast area, and a little hard to find.

This stay was a wonderful end to a 3 week vacation and we were able to share it with our son, daughter in law and 2 grandchildren.

Noisy air conditioner made it difficult to sleep, and my electronic keycards failed to work upon arrival.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by dst13 Great stay.
Friendly, helpful, and AWESOME front desk staff! Beautiful grounds. Quiet hotel.
OK...now the"cons": Rude breakfast attendant. Small bathroom compared to expansive suite. Found a hair in the shower upon check-in inspection. Startled by a spider getting out of the shower!!
But, an overall, great experience -- thanks to a wonderful, accommodating staff.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AOJR Decent Stay
This was not a 5 star hotel, but I knew this upon making my reservation. The room (2 doubles) was a little small for me, but the beds were comfortable. The overall room was decent - housekeeping needs to be more attentive to every detail of their responsibilities, i.e. emptying the refrigerator.
The room was priced right for the level of HIE category.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 1ladodgers2 One bad night
Overall was in this hotel for 9 nights -- one 4 night stay -- left for 4 days -- then returned for 5 night stay. Pretty typical HIE, you know what your getting. Pool, small rec room and free breakfast. This facility is in the north of Kansas City, not a great area or close to any attractions. The HIE in town was cheaper and closer to sites ( now I find out). The one terrible night was when there was a "party" in the room next to us. We waited until around 11:00 to first complain to the desk -- no help. Complained again around 1:00 am and desk clerk did come up and warn partyiers, but it still continued. Last called at 2:30 am but by this time the night was shot. The hotel staff did remove the guests the next day but the damage was done. I like HIE but the next time I will stay in another one.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cardinals Baseball Fan Don't Let the Industrial Part of Town Fool You
We were a bit skeptical of how the hotel would be in the inside based upon the industrial surroundings of the hotel but were happily surprised when we got inside. It was clean. Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean. The only bummer was a very crowded parking lot when we returned back to the hotel from the ball game. Had to squeeze into a spot kind of small for our vehicle. Nice hotel!
