Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Off the beaten path, but not too far away. This hotel had everything we were looking for. We were in town to catch a Royals game. My two boys enjoyed the pool, and I always love the extra value of a complimentary breakfast. Some complimentary breakfasts are lacking, but the variety and quality were good. When one considers the cost of eating out for breakfast for a family of four, the added value of this amenity is a big deal to us. The tornado sirens did sound during our stay at around 11:30 p.m. Unfortunately the front desk was of little assistance. When asked by guests for some direction, he simply placed the printed policy/procedure for such an emergency on the desk. There was really no verbal instruction given. I'm sure that there is some liability involved and that may be why he didn't really give us much verbal instruction. It would've been nice for him to at least help us sort out where we were located in conjunction to the radar weather threat. I'm pretty good at reading maps and had a pretty good grasp on my directions/bearings, but it still took my wife and I a little while to figure out that the perceived threat was northeast of our location and our family was really in no imminent danger despite the sirens. That is the only reason why I ranked staff a little lower than the other areas. I found the check-in staff very helpful. He was able to get us into our room before typical check-in time which was nice so that we could relax a little before the game. We also did not have reservations, so that made this even more impressive in my mind. Overall a great stay and somewhere we would consider staying again for other Royals games this season and beyond. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 clean room but terrible sleep we booked this room for two nights. the location was questionable when we pulled up but the hotel seems newly renovated. the rooms looked nice and were clean. we were on the main floor and located across from the ice and vending machines. People were using these from about 2am on. then around 7am, the shouting started. I could hear an English speaking person yelling her question to a non-English speaking person over and over. each time she got louder as if yelling would help the person understand English. I finally opened the door to realize we were also across from the laundry room. I called the front desk to complain but by this time I was out of bed and unfortunately up for the day. May 26, 2015
