Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to usual standard I stay at HIEX every time I travel if possible, but this property was disappointing. We had a room on the first floor and the hallway to the room stunk of sour carpet and mildew. The room itself had been sprayed heavily with air freshener to mask the odor. The resulting smell in the room was very unpleasant. The air conditioner in the room would not keep up (it was very hot outside) and could not cool the room below about 78F. The wooden protection plate behind the luggage bench was loose from the wall and hanging down. In general, it was just a poorly maintained property. I shared my concerns with the desk clerk upon checking out and he took notes and apologized, but made no effort to compensate me for the shortfall in service. I think expecting the room not to stink and the air conditioner to work is reasonable at the price point I paid. Some effort at service recovery on his part would have been appreciated. July 28, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bed with crater The mattress had a crater so deep you could see it the moment you walked in the room (wish I had taken a picture). It was a queen bed and I was in the bed by myself so I tried sleeping on the side without the crater but the crater was so big I had to put a pillow in it to level my body out. Without the pillow it was like I was sleeping on a downward slope. The room was right next to the ice machine so it was noisy too. I asked to switch rooms and was told they didn't have any others. I didn't know whether I could believe that though because when I was making the reservation a few hours before I was due to arrive I went to their website to make a reservation and get a quote. Before confirming the online reservation I called the hotel to ask for their best rate for a room with two queen beds and was told they only have suites available( which were much more expensive). I told her that I was online and it shows there are rooms available. She claimed she just reserved the last room. I then hit the bottom to finalize my online booking and told her I just this very moment made the reservation online. Her reply was "someone must have just cancelled". Yeah, right.. I should have taken that as a sign this was going to be a bad experience because it was the worst hotel experience I have had in my life and I travel a whole lot. They also did not acknowledge me as a rewards club member. I had to ask to receive the points for Gold members I is now almost two weeks later and I still have not received them. Since then I have stayed at other Holiday Inns and I have received the rewards points from those but not from this one. July 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Could've been better We booked 2 rooms with 4 adults total. They didn't give us adjoining rooms, or even offer to, until we asked for a replacement room because one of the first two rooms had a stale smell to it and the A/C unit looked like it was under repair (the knobs had been removed and a control module was laying on top of the unit). We had booked both rooms for 2 nights. When we arrived we realized we may need both rooms for a third night. The Front desk clerk said she would check on the availability for the third night and get back to us, but we never heard from her. After the first night we went online and booked the third night. Lastly when we checked in, the price on one of rooms was $10 higher than expected. After retrieving the reservation paperwork the price was corrected. The clerk said she would correct the price in the computer. We found out later that the computer automatically added the $10 to the room because it assumed we would have 3 people in one room (triggering an extra person charge) and 1 person in the second room. That's odd. Why would the program do that? Why wouldn't it automatically put 2 people in each room, thereby keeping our cost down? When we got our summary two days later it still reflected the incorrect price. We got it corrected at the desk before we left. July 12, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Uncomfortable bed and uncomfortable air conditioning This hotel seemed very new and the service was fine, but the mattress was very poor and the air conditioning ran hot and cold all night. Needless to say, we did not sleep well. July 3, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by My stay in Little Rock I think the value for the stay was a little above price. For the location. I live near Chicago Illinois, and I would have expected the cost per night to be a little less in Arkansas. The pool was very nice, the exercise room is sufficient. I think the variety and temperature of the food could have been quite a bit better. I was disappointed at the NUMBER of fees and taxes ADDED to the bill after I was told "the nightly fee".
