This was good value for money and a good location. But it is pretty basic and not as good as many newer HIExpress hotels.
The decor was plain
The room basic, bed and linen clean but didn't fit properly
Wifi was unusable in both the room and the bar
Food was ok, decent range of choices
SO overall a simple, basic place to rest your head but nothing special and not up to the standard of other Hi-Express hotels.

This Hotel is a great location for visiting family in Grange Park we had a good three day deal over Easter & have stayed at this Hotel many times before and been very happy. Our room was Freezing for the entire stay, i left a note for the House Keeper every day asking her to leave the heating on as we were Freezing my husband had two pairs of socks on and two T -Shirts on.. On Saturday we were only left one set of towels so again i had to leave another note.The Breakfast on Sunday was a nightmare the entire Bar , Breakfast room and reception was full of people trying to get breakfast it was dreadful so we went without. also it was the hour change and what looked like a big family 50th party staying We were asked about our stay at reception on leaving and we explained how cold we had been, and about the breakfast she said yes it was manic and if we had told reception they would have arranged for an extra blanket with Housekeeping! I thought the note would have been enough, the heater wasn't working properly. So sadly this was not the best visit to Loakes Close.Our room was 117 incase you want to check the heater out...

This hotel is just off the motorway and is a distance from any town centre. It is based on a business estate and if visiting any of the companies there, then it would come in handy.
It was a comfortable stay at a good price, but nothing stood out as a memorable stay.

I found the room to be very comfortable and well appointed. I enjoy having a cup of tea in the morning before breakfast. For me, the location was perfect as I have family who live in Grange Park. Its proximity to the M1 also made my onward journey south the following morning extremely easy. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the breakfast; I had expected cereals and toast so a 'hot' breakfast was a bonus. I will stay here again.

Would highly recommend this hotel, only one little thing was that the heating was off when we got to the room and as it was a very cold snowy day so took a while to warm up. Other than that this hotel and its staff are faultless.

Unfortunately my wife and I became unwell while staying at the hotel. ( nothing to do with the hotel).
It meant we had to stay in out room for three days and the staff were exceptional in looking after or needs. They phoned and arranged for medical help.
Being unwell when not at home is not something i would like to experience again.
Thank you staff for your help

To be fair the room comfort, and bed especially, was very good.Hotel location is superb for main road network, but keep away from the main M1 roundabout at rush hour its a mare. Hotel cost was reasonable, supported by good friendly staff service, all with a smile; which goes a long way after a long trip. The breakfast, well one of the worst I have experienced in all my 35 years of staying in hotels....so strongly suggest you give a miss.

The staff at Holiday Inns always provide good service. Room very clean but there was a large crack in the wash hand basin in the bathroom. Breakfast not that brilliant - croissants cold and hard. No Danish pastries and not much choice of cereal.

Stayed here with friends and was really impressed with the hotel and staff.
Room was lovely and clean as was the bathroom. Breakfast, best scrambled eggs ever and I am fussy. Plenty to choose from. Could not complain at all about my stay. We were on the third floor and did not hear a thing all night.

Staff nice and friendly on arrival, room small but had everything you need and breakfast on reasonably times.
No bad points, just a couple of little things.
The hair dryer belongs on bargain hunt, no bacon at breakfast and the slightly noisy air con unit.
All in all great value for money and if I need a room and are in the area i will defiantly stay there.

We have only seen the reception staff who are friendly, polite and helpful.
We had to ask for more tea/coffee/sugar for our room as there were only 2 of each supplied, but the lady on reception who got them for us was really helpful and nice.
However, at breakfast:
The toaster was burning the toast.
The water to make tea and coffee was not hot, so the drinks were luke warm.
The fresh orange juice tasted like it had been watered down.
The 'hot' cabinet didn't keep the food hot.
The choice of breakfast food is fine, but the hot food should be just that...hot!

I often stay here as we have family in Northampton. This time we were booked in for Christmas Eve and arrived late in the evening, entering our room around 10pm. After changing my kids for bed we went to use the bathroom and noticed wet towels on the floor, I put them in the corridor and then realised that the bathroom hadn't been cleaned from the previous occupants. As we were already settled, it being Christmas Eve and being already late in the evening, I didn't ask to change rooms, had it been any other time or day, I would have done. I complained to reception on departure and was offered reward points as an apology. Usually the hotel is excellent, breakfast is good and I haven't previosuly experienced any problems. Maybe I was just unlucky this time around but especially as it was Christmas, I left disappointed.

Overall my experience was good and the breakfast is very well done. But the speed of the internet, even though I paid for the business option, was extremely slow. I should n't have bothered paying the extra cost.

Relatively new hotel, lives up to the brand promise, good breakfast and good value for money.
However was woken at 5.00am due to a faulty fire alarm, these things do happen, but the communication could have been better advising that it was a false alarm. Will be going back just after Xmas, trust they have it fixed by then

Harvester only 25 metres across the car park.

I stayed here recently for a work event. This is a lovely hotel, the rooms are lovely, the bathrooms and shower (wet room) is fantastic. The room i had was a double with sofa bed, very well priced, includes breakfast which is probably the best choice i have seen in a while. The rooms are equipped with latest flat screen tv, the beds are very comfortable. I had a usb slot in TV, which was great for watching films off a usb stick or usb hard drive.
WIFI is only available in the great hall which is a shame as i would have liked access to complete some work in the privacy of my room.
The bar is open late, there is also a pub across the way and it is just off the motorway at J15, easy access to and from any location and Northampton and Wellingborough Train Station are nearby. The business facilities are great, meeting rooms and breakout areas, Overall whether you are a family, a business user or just an exhausted traveller needing rest. This is the hotel for service, for comfort and for all the other needs you may have. Excellent stay and when i return this way, this hotel will be my choice over and over again. I made a mess of booking online and the staff, in this case it was Charlotte, sorted it out by phone. She appreciated the flowers but she deserved a larger bouquet!
Everything was excellent. The breakfast was very good but for me bacon instead of sausages would have been the finishing touch. It was a pleasure to stay in this hotel thanks to the quality, cleanliness, value and staff.

It was not the best of occasions, for visiting Northampton, the passing of a loved one. Not knowing the area or hotels the selection was made swiftly. However as it happened it was the right choice. No fuss, no private intrusions,a calm and relaxed atmosphere is what was needed, and it was delivered, thank you so much.

Overall excellent, hotel was busy but, the staff were very helpful especially the 2 receptionists who were working on the evening of 4/11/12.
My daughter had had a minor prang in her car, they gave us the Police contact numbers, a map to get there and even sent a Paramedic who was staying at the hotel over to check if my daughter and 6 month old grandaughter were ok!!!!!!!!
Nothing seemed too much trouble so thanks.

The greeting from your friendly receptionist was 5 star and much appreciated after a stressful day! She was just as lovely later when I needed a safety pin and gave me a sewing kit with just what I needed!
The room was lovely and comfortable, although I would have loved a bath as well as a shower and would have happily paid a bit extra but was disappointed that there were none in the hotel.
The drinks at the bar were mega expensive! A beer and an archers and lemonade to be around £8! This totally put off our friends from buying a drink from the bar when they joined us and we all headed out earlier than perhaps we would have done otherwise.
I thought the breakfast was great considering it was an 'express' hotel and had enough to meet our needs, although would always be good to have some gluten free options even if just bread for the toast.
Overall I thought it was excellent value with great staff and would definitely stay again should the need arise.

On checking in, for the first time, I was greeted as a Priority Club Member. Was told that 'as I was a Priority Member my room would be on the third floor!' Room was very nice, clean and comfortable but, the view was a small rooftop with a large column in front of it! Not quite what I was expecting as a Priority Member! That said, the rest of the stay was excellent. The hotel is very clean and modern. The staff are polite but friendly. The service we received was good. Breakfast served in the mornings is very good. Location is good, just outside of Northampton town and you are onto the M1 in minutes. One of the things I most appreciated about this hotel is that there is plenty of free parking during your stay. Am fed up of having to pay car parking charges when I am a guest in a hotel. Well done on this. I booked a two night stay with my family and, apart from the view! from the room, everything else was excellent. Would recommend this hotel.

I booked this place knowing it was an excellent place to stay and it served the purpose well for me. It is conveinently situated off the M1 Jct 15. The staff were pleasant, rooms clean and comfortable. There is a pub opposite which is handy is you fancy a pint and evening meal. The inclusive breakfast is also good value and you can eat as much as you like.
In short. I would reccomend this Holiday Inn Express to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in this area.

El Hotel, al igual que todos los Holiday Inn Express que he visitado en diferentes paises, está muy bien. Servicio y calidad a buen precio con desayuno incluido.
El problema surgió ya tarde en la noche. Se mantuvo un ruido muy molesto que parecía provenir del tejado similar al motor de una "Harley" que solo se atenuó a partir de las 6 de la mañana. A esto se añadió el hecho de que el teléfono estaba fuera de servicio porque el conector de la pared estaba roto y no permítía llamar. Como solo ibamos a estar esa noche optamos por intentar dormir, cosa que conseguimos a ratos pues el ruido resulatba demasiado molesto.
Por la mañana en el "Check-out" se lo dije a la chica de recepción que recibió la queja con mucha amabilidad, ya que me indicó de haber llamado para comunicarlo, pero como también le dije que el teléfono estaba fuera de servicio, le dije que no se preocupara que no era culpa suya.
Así que una noche de descanso casi se convirtió en una pequeña pesadilla. Pero sin duda repetiría si tuviese que ir otra vez, ya que como miembro del Priority Club, soy asíduo de estos hoteles con una excelente relación de calidad/precio.
