Even though I paid cash for my stay, my credit card was charged for the full amount of my stay. I brought it to their attention several times, including upon check out. I was assured that everything was fine. My card was charged and it took two days to get anyone to do anything about it. I am still waiting for the removal of the charge from my account.
I was also charged (pending status) for "incidentals", which was supposed to be removed from my account after I checked out. I am still waiting for that to be released.
When I added a roll away bed to my account, I was told that I would not be charged for a 3rd person. I was charged anyways.

REALLY CLEAN ROOMS AS WELL AS REST OF PROPERTY.
WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE STAYING IN THIS AREA.

The Good: very friendly and accommodating staff, convenient location (to all things in Detroit Metro area), good breakfast, decent sized room with a mini-fridge and strong value (at least relative to what I paid for a night).
The Bad: The only thing I could say needs improvement is some of the upkeep of the building itself and some things in the lobby area were not as nice / clean as I would have expected. That's it.

Very comfortable, clean rooms, good service, friendly staff, good breakfast and cozy atmosphere. Very convinient location, close to the HWY, gas station, shopping malls, restaurants!
Would stay there again.

Highly recommend the Detroit Farmington Hills Northville Holiday Inn Express. The staff is awesome and I have been fortunate to stay there several times and each time has been great!!!
The staff does a great job in recognizing and taking care of Priority Club members!!!

The room was quiet, the bed comfortable, and was close to everything...family, food, shopping, and the e-way. Haggerty Road is, at times, difficult to make a left turn onto out of the hotel. The driveway into the hotel is really for the BP gas station. The hotel doesn't have it's own entrance drive. A little confusing if you are not familiar with the area.
When I checked in there wasn't any recognition of my being a Platinum member. All other IHG properties I've stayed at have always acknowledged my Platinum status and I've received at least a bottle of water when checking in.
The staff was very friendly and helpful except on the day I was checking out. The computer in the business center needed attention so that I could print my boarding pass. When I went to the front desk the 'man' there acted like it was a bother to take a look at the issue. All other staff encountered during my stay were always pleasant and helpful.
I would stay at this hotel again. It had everything I needed for my stay.

Arrived hotel at midnight.
Counter person seems to be sleeping.
Spent a lot of time for Check-In.
No invoice was issue.
When I requested invoice at reception, he mentioned invoice will be delivered by emial.
Never received !!!

This hotel has very clean rooms and great TV (flat screen) selection. The outside grounds were a little better on this stay, grass was cut and dead plants removed from front door. Great location and I would give 5 stars if the outside grounds We're maintain a little better. Great staff, I will return.

The room itself looked very nice. It was the suite.
However, once I tried to sleep I noticed that you can very clearly hear the front door to the hotel ( located right below the room ) open and close all night. On top of that, anyone that stood outside in the smoking area sounded like they were in the room when they talked at a normal level. To add to the noise level the room is directly accross from the elevator, which you could clearly hear as well. I was acctually annoyed enough to find and download a white noise application to my phone. Just as I was about to fall asleep the smoke detector started to beep. Not alarm beep, but like it needed maintenance.
I have stayed at this hotel before in a regular room and the service was great. This trip however was one of the worst hotel experiences of my professional travels.
I will say this though, the hotel staff have always been exceptional and responsive.

This is our favorite Hotel, we stay here every time we are in Northville to visit our Family. We have stayed here at least 80 different times in the last couple of years. Rita, Amanda and the rest of the staff feel like family. They are all so nice and very helpful. Wouldn't stay any where else. Love this place!

My experience was very good the room was bigger than most hotel rooms I've stayed in and clean.The people at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating . I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed at many hotels & each time I stay here I am disappointed in the front desk staff I am a priority club member but get no greeting or even a complimentary bottle of water when I check in. The staff are so busy talking with each other that I am ignored until it is convenient for them. Breakfast was mediocre compared to other Holiday Inn properties in this level. I stay here because it is convenient but the service could stand a refresher course

The room they booked me for wasn't clean upon my arrival. I informed staff the room was dirty and they immediately upgraded my wife and I to a suite. They even gave us extra perks. They couldn't be more apologetic and helpful after their snafu. Fresh warm cookies upon arrival, good breakfast and friendly staff makes for a great stay. I will definitely stay there again if I am in the area.

The room and staff were great. One of the cleanest rooms I have stayed in and I stay at a lot of Holiday Inn. The outside grounds needs help. The grass was not cut and dead plant at the front door entrance, looked bad. But like I said the inside was top notch. Get a good grounds keeper and the hotel would be 5 stars.

I have been here multiple times. But this may have been my last. After a long day of meetings, I returned early evening to find my room had no housekeeping. My call and visit to the front desk , the daily log showed that housekeeping stated they DID service my room. Strangely enough EVERYTHING was as I left it in the morn. So someone got paid for doing nothing. Thank goodness I am not a slob, so I easily adapted by straightening up the bed, and used a second set of towels. It looks like housekeeping needs a little more supervision. On another occassion six months ago on the same property, my rental car was hit. Tore the bumber right off. And NO ONE saw or heard a thing. GO figure!! Time to move on to another property even though this was most convenient. For the price, I shouldnt have to empty my own trash and make the bed! Sent a message to Customer Care and still havnt heard a thing. It's been a week!

I only stayed one night for business but the hotel is an exceptional value. All of the staff that I spoke to, greeted me and were very professional. The room was excellent. The breakfast was great. I enjoyed my stay and plan to stay here again on my next visit to the area.

I rated everything good - because it was. I take into consideration location and value to same. I needed to be in Northville for two days and HIE was the right place.for me.. The front desk ladies were very nice and polite. The room had everything I needed. A comfy bed and clean bathroom with adequate supplies. The breakfast selections were very good. The place is showing its age and someone needs to address that issue. If you're planning a short stay and you won't be hanging out it your room too much - HIE, Northville, is the right place. It is not a vacation spot. As the saying goes - it is what it is. Should I need to be in that area again, I will definitely stay at that Holiday Inn Express.

The staff was extremely rude during the stay. If that wasn't bad enough, they tried charging us an extra $25 per night after check out for having a dog - the only problem was, we didn't have a dog. Trying to get the charge removed was next to impossible, because no one at the hotel was authorized to remove the charge. The manager did not return voicemails, so we just had to call repeatedly to track her down. This experience seriously makes me reconsider Holiday Inn and it's Priority Club!!!!

The Hotel is par with most Holiday Inn Express hotels that I have visited. However for what they charged per night it was an outstanding value for money.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is what is normally expected from Holiday Inn Express, nothing outstanding, but nothing to complain about either.
One very important thing to point out. A day or two after I had checked out, one of the hotel staff members called me to apologize that there might have been an error with housekeeping and they might have cleaned my room before I was ready to checkout and that might have caused me to lose a piece of paper with some phone numbers on it. (I guess they found the piece of paper after I had left). And despite me assuring her that it was actually my fault, she insisted on giving me extra bonus points for my trouble....
So, thank you Jennifer, that shows how much you guys care... And again it was my fault not the housekeeping staff.
A+++ for customer service to follow up like that.

During our 2 night stay we had a group of pre-teen soccer players staying in the hotel 1 floor above us. They were running up and down the halls, making lots of noise, and after calling the desk twice we were informed that nothing could be done to quiet them down. We almost called the police which we should have done.
We will never stay at this hotel agaIn.
Also the fron desk manager could not give change for $100 bill and was very curt about it...was not happy with her attitude!!
