We spent one night at this hotel by the Oakland airport and left our car for a 10 nights parking. Hotel, breakfast, service, staff were all very good but I really want to commend the driving staff, our driver to the airport was ready a minute or two when we were ready to leave and we experienced the same courteous and fast service when we came back - this time after 11:00 pm!

Enjoyed the stay. Nice, as expected. For the money, the value was good. It is a nice location with average to slightly above average overall quality.

I arrived at around midnight from a layover and needed to ride the shuttle at 6am back to the airport. I called the evening before and they said it was first come- first served. I called again to let them know at 5am that I needed a shuttle at 6am. She told me I needed to be in the lobby. I came down around 5:45 am. The front desk then began to lecture me about how if I wanted a shuttle I should be waiting in the lobby 45 min to an hour before the shuttle. I told her I called an hour early. She reminded me that I should have been sitting in the lobby the entire time. I then asked for a cab- she said it would take 45 minutes. We were 5 min away from the airport. She told me I would just have to sit and wait. I finally asked if she vould at least call the shuttle and give me an ETA so I would know if it were possible to make my flight. She once again lectured me. After a 10 hour trying to get toOakland, getting to my hotel at midnight and waking up at 5am, I just don't understand how the staff could have made the entire process any more difficult. If you call down to the desk and say you need a shuttle an hour before, why can't they give you and ETA or put you on a list? Or give you a courtesy call of some kind. They were rude and I am a platinum member who stays at HIE all the time. This particular hotel had very poor customer service.

I got this room due to an early morning flight, and I was pleasantly surprised! Arrived a little early, and still got into the room. The shuttle picked me up and dropped me off at the Bart and the airport, so I was very pleased with the transportation. The room was very very clean, and was very relaxing! I enjoyed the view, but would say that the heater/A/C so close the the bed was not a smart move, as that area was either cooler or hotter than any other part of the room. I still enjoyed the stay, and will stay there again for sure!

I arrived at Oakland airport at 10:30 at night and went out to wait for the shuttle. After about 40 minutes, and watching several other hotel shuttles loop by for the second time, one driver stopped to see if I was ok. He suggested I call the hotel to ask where the shuttle was. When I did, I was told that I had to RESERVE the airport shuttle ahead of time! This fact was never communicated to me during my reservation, confirmation or even when I personally called the front desk the night before to inform them of my late arrival. I think that's unacceptable.
I cannot believe that a hotel which is only a mile from the airport has no looping airport shuttle service at night, and that they do not make that fact well known to people when they are making their reservations. It took me an hour to get to the hotel. I could have walked there faster (and I would have, too, except I was warned not to because it's a dangerous area and I didn't know the way.)
Also, the room looked tired, depressing, and did not feel safe. Front desk clerk was not friendly. Would not stay here again.

The room was clean and comfortable. We loved the jacuzzi and the room has a lot of space. The staff was nice and knowledgable about the area. Overall we had a good stay. Although there was a lot of construction on the same street and we could hear it all, we had a good night.

I was extremely pleased with my overall stay. The location was conveniently located by the airport and the car rental location, plus it was nearby causal dinning and shopping. My suite was great: very spacious, cozy and the bed slept great. I love the kitchenette area with sink, refrigerator, micorwave and cabinets. My room had 2 flat-screen TV's which was so nice to have; one by the bed and the other by the sitting area. The staff was professional and friendly. I had an issue and I loved the way they handled it. The buffet breakfast had great selections daily. The food was hot and the area was very clean. I would absolutely recommend this located.

I so appreciate the location and the van service. The room and the breakfast were very satisfactory. My room on the second floor was farther from the elevator than I expected, but met my needs well after I reached it. I appreciated the newspaper at my door (not all places do that anymore).

I chose this property for it's proximity to a morning meeting; I expected a marginal experience since the property is adjacent to the Oakland airport. I was wrong! It was amazingly quiet the entire time I was there! All the finishes were in excellent condition, the bed and pillows as wonderfully comfortable l as I've come to expect with the Holiday Inn Express brand.

I like to sleep in a relatively cool room but the air conditioner, even after running all night, never went below 70 degrees even when 66 degrees was set on the thermostat.

5 weeks after my last stay at this hotel I see on my card statement that I have several charges from this hotel. I called and they acted like no big deal but asked me to fax documents. Did that and waited a week to see a credit...not...so I called and they acted like I was an idiot for faxing. So I emailed the docs....Been 2 weeks now and cant get them to respond to fax, voice or email to remedy despite documents sent from me disputing.
A lot of blah blah but no action taken on HIX part so far.

I have stayed in a lot of Holiday Inn Expresses. The continental breakfasts are the same. The room was beautiful. I did not find a workout room but there was a jacuzzi. There was a lot of construction around the area so it is a little crazy getting to the hotel side. Otherwise - I would recommend this hotel.

I always book at Holiday Inn Express Hotels since a wonderful experience on an extended trip a number of years ago. Flying in from the East Coast, we rented a car in Seattle and drove down the West Coast at will for two weeks. Each Holiday Inn Express, when told we travel just 200 miles per day, booked our next nights stay at another HI 200 miles away. It was a wonderful trip thanks to Holiday Inn Express. We even stayed at the one in Lake Tahoe. Never have been disappointed at a Holidy Inn Express Hotel. Although we don't travel too much, we stay at Holiday Inn Express above all others, when we do.
