was a little disappointed upon learning they were under construction we were on the 3rd floor and had the only ice machine in use. Staff was nice and helpful. The breakfast was good though.

Construction has a down side. There will be a mess somewhere. The O'Fallon HIE is undergoing a complete remodel, a floor at a time, including the entire first floor/breakfast area. We, however, were not inconvenienced one bit, and in fact, wish to commend the management for taking steps to ensure the integrity of the décor is tended to during the remodel.

Even in the final phases of renovation, I've definitely marked this location to visit again.
Rooms were comfortable, bedding and towels recently upgraded, and the wall and floor covering are subtlety edgy. Holiday Inn had stepped up their game.

The front area and the whole first floor was under renovation and the lobby/check-in desk was overwhelmed with paint smells when I checked in. Hard to avoid I am sure. The breakfast bar area was also in the renovation area so it was cramped, the pool was closed and the fitness room was closed. The rooms were updated and comfortable, I had a newly renovated room. The smell of new paint was still faintly in the room. The single elevator, takes forever to change floors, in the morning, with a bad leg keeping me from using the stairs, it took at least 5 minutes standing waiting for the elevator.
