Hotel staff was nice upon check-in. Only 1 elevator for use.. Side door was out of order. Dark hallways. Carpet and bed damp. Took much air freshener used by staff, made allergies abundant. Not enough adequate parking and size of parking spots very small.

I am a Holiday Inn Express rewards member. I booked this room near Penn Square as I was having a reunion with friends. The room was booked for 3 adults (a $10 additional person fee added to the bill), the room being an Executive with a King bed and sofa bed. Upon returning to the hotel at 11 pm we discovered there wasn't bedding for the sofa bed. I phoned the front desk and was told I needed to come down and get it. I requested he bring it up as we had prepared for bed already. It was obvious we were putting him out for this extra accommodation. He brought up a fitted sheet, comforter, and 2 light blankets. No mattress pad or flat sheet. At 6:15 the next morning the phone rang, only to be met with a dial tone. 30 seconds later it rang again, and then happened again until I left it off the hook. These were scheduled wake up calls I had not requested. It also seems that if one were to book 3 adults to a room that they would have 3 sets of towels. Only 2 were provided. The breakfast area provides only about 8-9 tables in a small area off the entrance. Not enough to provide a comfortable breakfast for a full hotel. We ended up waiting for a table to open. Upon checking out I mentioned all my grievances to the front desk only to be told "Okay". No apology, sorry you were inconvenienced, etc. I will not return to this hotel for these reasons, they don't value their reward members. Shame on you Holiday Inn Express.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay here. Room was great. Breakfast was good.
Housekeeping began knocking on our door at 8:30 two mornings in a row to clean room.
They should wait until later. We were gone most of the day beginning about 9-9:30.
And I never did understand why I had to make two reservations--one for Fri and Sat night, and one for Sun night. Even if the rates were different couldn't this have all been one?
I received two bills, and if I had not inquired about this, I am not sure my keys would have worked when we returned on Sunday afternoon.

I am continuously pleased with the overall cleanliness and quality of the Holiday Inn Express Hotels. This one is no different. Staff was accommodating, pleasant and polite. Beds and pillows were very comfortable.

Overall I would rate this a good hotel, however I don't know if I would recommend this hotel for people to stay at because I wasn't overly excited or blown away with the overall experience of the hotel. The bed was nice, and the room was nice as well. The bath tub's drain wasn't working properly and there was about 6 inches of standing water as I was showering. Our original room wasn't ready when we checked in, and the customer service wasn't welcoming.

Room and bed were great also the breakfast was wonderful and always is. One thing I was not greeted as a rewards member when I checked in.
