I showed up at another hotel where I was to attend a conference, only to find my room had been given away and the staff there very unsympathetic. In looking for a place to stay I remembered my Holiday Inn Express Club card, and called. The staff here was very helpful, friendly and sympathetic to my dilemma.
Will stay there again.

Room smelled like stinky feet. Shower size of small closet. Hot tub under repair. Exterior walkways in bad shape.

We booked rooms for ourselves and some guests that were traveling with us. For one we used reward points, for the other we paid cash. Our guests arrived to the hotel prior to us. When they reached their room they found a fast food bag containing trash on the desk, a napkin sitting between the beds on the night stand and a glass in the bathroom. My husband mentioned it to the night clerk who said they could move rooms if they wanted but since it was nearly midnight they decided to pick up the trash and go to bed. In the morning my husband was in the shower when he noticed used shampoo/conditioner bottles on the high shelf in our shower. He was down telling the morning clerk about the dirty room (guest room) and dirty shower(our room) when our guest arrived stating when our guests wife got into the shower she also had shampoo, conditioner and used soap in her shower. It was unnoticed previously due to the shower curtain being pulled back. The clerk although disgusted by the unclean rooms, told us that she could do nothing for us as only the general manager had that authorization. She also indicated that he could only help us with the cash room not the points room. I got a copy of both room bills prior to leaving and discovered that they had charged me more than they quoted me when making the reservation even though I made reservations directly with the hotel staff. When I got home, I called priorityclub and told them of my concerns regarding this hotel as it is not a good reflection of their hotel line. On Monday I called the general manager and left a message for him to call. I waited 5 hours without a response. When I called back he finally took my call. He was unhappy that I had called priorityclub with a complaint before talking to him and told me so numerous times. He did finally agree to discount the cash room for the untidy condition it was in. He said he had addressed the cleaning issues with staff and had also talked to the clerks regarding their responsibilities. After all of that, I'm not convinced that this hotel is a place that I would want to stay again any time soon. I don't believe that this was an isolated incident.
