Only stayed here one night. First I will say the staff was friendly and helpful and the location on the beach was good.
We were at this facility when it was very busy which made the breakfast area so crowded there was no room and food trays were mostly empty. It appeared the staff could not keep up.
Did not feel the room was up to expected H.I.E. standards. It looked and felt aged. Again I feel because the place was so busy house keeping probably struggled to keep up.
I felt it was the type of place trying to maximize profit and minimize expense. Not a good plan for the hospitality business!
Did not feel comfortable at this facility. I use H.I.E and H. Inn a lot and normally enjoy my stay but this facility did not live up to what I normally experience at a H.I.E.

Pros: Breakfast and cleaning staff very friendly. ONE (note the one) of the Managers on Duty was friendly and attentive. Pool and hot tub were clean and appropriate size for hotel. Access to the beach was great. Great price for daily beach rentals. Breakfast choices were good. Hotel was clean in most areas. Room was decent size.
Cons: Front desk staff was rude. 5 hours of waiting for a room upon arrival past stated check in time. Room was not always cleaned. When brought to front desk attention we were handed towels and washcloths. No apology. Never asked if we would like someone to come up and clean it. This happened twice. Pool snack bar wasn't always open even on the most beautiful days.

Very nice, staff were all very friendly and helpful. Only problem was the ice machine right outside our door, feel they should give these room an extra discount for dealing with all the noise in the night!

I have stayed at this hotel many times and always had a great stay and the staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. This was my first visit during spring break so it was a little crowded. The only problems we had were: I would suggest that the hotel open up the meeting room (if it is available) for extra seating for the breakfast buffet overflow; I would suggest that the hotel purchase new rollaway beds as the one we had was very uncomfortable; and the hot tub was dirty. Other than that, everything was great and I will stay at this hotel again.

Our stay was wonderful. We had a small issue with the hot water pressure, but when I mentioned it to the front desk staff, it was fixed when we returned to the room that evening. Great customer service.
Also, I love a large breakfast, so the morning buffet hit the spot. A large selection of breakfast foods made for a great way to start the day.

This location is the best ever for a family spring break vacation! We were given rooms together, as we had asked for. The rooms are big, so we had plenty of space, even with 7 of us. The pool and beach being right outside our door was ideal for the kids and lunch and nap times. Breakfast is incredible, and the sweet lady who works breakfast makes your morning bright with her precious smile and attention to your needs!! The entire staff is attentive and there to help with anything immediately. This is my only choice in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area and will always be the only place we stay!

This is a great beach front location. Clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and plentiful. A few glitches with some daily tasks, but management was very prompt to correct. Very family friendly. I would highly recommend this location.

The staff was super friendly--- we really enjoyed our break. The breeze from the beach was cold but the pool & hot tub & warm towels made it all fun! Will head back again soon!

Favorite gulf front room. Quiet even though there were a few spring-breakers. Beach access is the best anywhere. My favorite vacation spot!!! Can't wait for Shrimp Fest in October.

This was a great stay! The management and the whole staff was incredible. Even though was spring break week the staff did a great job supporting both the spring breakers (younger people) and families (old people like me). We will defiantly be back.

We had a wonderful stay. Room, Breakfast Aera, Hotel in general, Pool Area, Laundry service have been excellent - all of it has been clean, staff has been friendly and helpful. Warm weather would have made the stay even better!

We were at the Holiday Inn Express last summer and my husband had two of the grandchildren at the pool. An employee by the name of Tony was working around the pool area and he and my husband started talking.
Well, when we went back the first weekend of March this year we were on the elevator and Tony got on and he remember my husband and remembered they were talking at the pool. I was really impressed with that. Another couple got off the elevator with us and the were also complimenting Tony.

The pool is beautiful but weather to cool for swimming in March. The hotel is very comfortable and we could see the sunset from our window. We really enjoyed our stay.

During a recent visit to Orange Beach we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. Though our original plan was to spend only one night, with storms rolling in, Amanda was able to accommodate our request for an additional night with a smile. All of the staff, from the check-in counter to the breakfast room, were friendly and professional. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We had a balcony which led out to an awesome view of the Gulf. We liked the hotel so much that when rain forced us to leave Fort Walton and head back in the direction of Orange Beach we decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Express for an additional two nights.....that's how much we enjoyed our stay the first two nights. Granted this stay was during off-season, but the Holiday Inn Express was an outstanding value!! Now if only you could have done something about the lousy weather :)

I had a late check in on a Monday night, and I booked my room late which was my fault, and asked for a Gulf front room, and when I checked in at about 10:30 pm, found out that I had a side view room toward the Gulf, the front desk representative said that she didn't have a Gulf front room that night but would upgrade me the next day to a Gulf front room. The next day the front desk said that they had moved me to 418 as well as my bags. Very accommodating and friendly, even the housekeeping staff were extra nice and friendly! The breakfast people were extra nice too!
The view from 418 was magnificent, good view of the Gulf, the beach as well as the pool below my balcony! Nice clean facility, with a well kept salt water aquarium in the lobby! and outside was nicely landscaped.

For a reasonably priced place to stay on Orange Beach I would definitely stay here again. The staff was friendly and courteous, the beach was fantastic and the pool area was also quite nice.

We drove to Dauphin Island and rode the ferry across. Drove down the beach and stopped at Orange Beach to eat and spend the night. We got the last of 119 rooms in the booked to capacity motel. The rooms are very nice. Comfortable beds and pillows. Good heating and air units and plenty of hot water in the shower. The next day we went down to the "standing room only" crowd in the dining area. The motel was at capacity and the dining area was packed. The staff kept the tables wiped, food stocked and were very courteous. Ms. Ayanna (sp?) was stopped by several people, including me. She was polite, attentive and tireless. It is a good location and great value. I highly recommend this property.

I was in Pensacola for work, and happened on to this Holiday Inn Express, and I was very happy that I did so. The hotel is in a perfect location, and the building is not more than 200 or so feet from the beach. The pool area is beautiful, and view, if you have a beach facing room, is wonderful. The staff were very accommodating and pleasant, and by my third stay in 4 weeks I was recognized and greeted. The wifi was dependable, the rooms were comfortable, there was plenty of free parking, and for those so inclined there was a workout room, business center, and even a washer and dryer. I love this place and would stay here again if my travels take me back to Pensacola.

Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The soft pillows
were wonderful for sleeping. The heated pools and hot tub were
very inviting. I appreciate the comforts of home, like the frig., micro-
wave and coffee pot. All the staff was helpful and courteous. We
came there to relax and that's what we did. Thank you.

I was truly looking forward to staying at this place. I have always enjoyed beach locations off season because of no crowds and kind of peaceful. To begin with, this place seems kind of crowded between buildings and parking lots but I was still looking forward to opening that door to my private little patio and watching the waves. Turns out though that most of the rooms don't face the beach, they face either the condo building or the parking lot. Mine faced the parking lot and was not very scenic or relaxing with all the yelling and such.
One of the most annoying things to me was how the thermostat was set up. They have installed these little electronic sensors that knows if your door is open. If you have the door open for fresh air even one little tiny bit, it won't allow the ac/heat to function at all, not even just the fan. I understand it probably saves a little but really? Also the breakfast does not start until 6:30 and I mean 6:30, not 6:29.
It was a clean place, but other than that, just a slightly old Holiday Inn Express on a beach that you most likely won't see out of your room, and won't be able to hear because you have to keep your balcony door closed.

Great staff and lots of good breakfast choices, clean room with fresh hvac unit with no smell when running. Evening desk clerk was very good.
There was lots more customer focus here than at some Comfort inns I've stayed in. Would recommend this hotel.

Great place to stay. Staff was wonderful, especially Amanda. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We had a great room with a wonderful view of the pool and beach. We will stay here again when we get back down to Orange Beach.

We have been coming to this Holiday Inn for about 6 or 7 years. Always have had a great experence except for this time. The lady that check us in this time was not customer friendly.She told us that we would be in rm. 616. I said oh, 6th fl., could we have 601? We have stayed in 601 before.She said, you put in request not to be near a elevator and ice machine. That rm is near an elevator, but, you can have it if you want. She said, 616 is in the middle of the hallway, better view.So, we took 616.Guess what, it was closer to the elevator than 601, and the ice machine was right around the corner, and the room was at the end of the hallway. The view was pretty, but, we came there because of previous good experiences, and some quiteness. Where we were was noisy. I was really disappointed in this stay and the lady behind the desk. Also, our furnace didn't work. Didn't find this out until the next night. Didn't report it. We don't like to make problems, but, next time, if there is a next time, I will speak up. Everyone, housekeeping and up is super. This one lady sure needs to go to the customer friendly class 101.
