I can't say anything about the views others rave about, we came in after dark and were socked in by a snowstorm the next morning. But I can say the staff could not have been more helpful. We had my invalid father with us that needed extra care. They made sure we had everything we needed, plus the next day with the snow storm they kept in touch and kept us updated on the road conditions. The rooms were nice, were clean and well furnished. Overall one of the best Holiday Express Hotels we've stayed in

This is the nicest Holiday Inn Express property that I have stayed in. The décor and layout of the hotel was well done. My room was clean and comfortable... and the view of the Virginia mountains and surrounding farms was magnificent!
I was greeted by name, not just when checking in, but each time I entered the hotel. The different members of the front desk staff seemed to go out of their way to see that my stay was comfortable.
I also need to commend the dining room staff! When besieged by four high school tennis teams at once, they were able to keep the food bar filled... feeding two teenagers is tough but 3 dozen? Miraculous!
I expressed my appreciation to the manager who was in his office each morning at 7:30 when I would leave for work. He has truly a wonderful staff.
These folks deserve a rating of 6 out of 5... an A+.

Besides excellence in friendliness, cleanliness and comfortable amenities, this Holiday Inn Express staff responded with well-trained efficiency and calm when my husband called the front desk to report he needed help because he was experiencing stroke symptoms. We will always be deeply grateful for the remarkable care we received from this staff.

Always stay here when visiting family and friends in the area. The staff goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is an enjoyable one. I am from this area originally and can remember when the Round Hill Dairy farm used to sit where the hotel now sits and it is amazing to see what can be done for a great view from this site!!Understand a golf course is in the plans around the facility in the future. Will always stay here when in town!!!

We love this place. This is our second time to stay here, and we will be back next time we're in this part of Virginia.
We like that this hotel has all of the conveniences and familiarities of a respected hotel chain, but still keeps that small-town, personal feel. It is conveniently located to all of the things we love about this part of Virginia: the hiking, the vineyards, and historical attractions. Go see Montpelier (home of James Madison# if you get a chance - very interesting and much less crowded than Monticello. There are also several good places to eat in the area. The Silk Mill is pretty cool - the restaurant is built in an old silk mill where parachutes were made for soldiers in times past. It's just a few blocks away from the hotel
The staff is friendly, and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are large, comfortable, and immaculately clean. If you can, ask for a room along the back side of the hotel. The view is beautiful - it overlooks a working farm and you can see the sun set over the mountains in the distance. Rooms along the front side of the building have a beautiful view of the sunrise #but don't worry, the curtains are nice and thick if you don't want to be woken that early by the sun.) We like to bring a bottle of wine back from whatever vineyard we visited that day and drink it while we watch the sun set through our windows.
The common areas of the hotel itself are clean and comfortable. The wireless internet worked fine both times we stayed here.
The hot breakfast is pretty good - it's not a full buffet or anything, but we had biscuits, sausage, gravy, pancakes, toast, cereal, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee, and I know there were other foods that I'm forgetting. Beats the standard continental breakfast anytime. Additionally, the dining room has a lovely view thanks to a full wall of windows facing the back of the property.
All in all, I can't say enough good things about this place!
