I would highly recommend this hotel if staying in the Ottawa area. I am a travel agent and have stayed in several hotels in the Ottawa and this one is by far the best. The rooms are very new and modern, the bathrooms are super clean, they sparkle, the staff at the front desk are extremely helpful and friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The complimentary breakfast the next morning was tasty and plentiful. Their beds and pillows are extremely comfortable, we had such a great nights sleep. It is centralized and close to the major highway for quick access to almost anything in the Ottawa area, even the airport is only 15-20 mins away.
I give them 5**** all the way. I will certainly return to this hotel and will recommend it to all my clients going to the Ottawa area.

I appreciate the fan is much quieter than in old HI hotels, however don't know if it is still quite at summer time when conditioner is on.
As usual with HI windows do not open so you must rely on air quality from central fan, but from my past experiences with older HI hotels in summertime conditioner could be so loud one cannot sleep at night.
Also I rated comfort as average, as there is no microwave, no fridge in the room. If you bring your own food, there will be no way to warm it up.
Staff and service: well, I asked concierge to forward invoice to my email, she smiled and said she will, but never did.

I have no complaints about our experience with our stay. It was very good. However, upon doing my online booking, I requested 2 rooms for 3 adults. A total amount was charged against my Amex card.
Upon checkout, I was surprised that the room rate was $10 higher. It was explained that the system read 2 rooms at 3 people/room and therefore added an additional $10 charge for the extra person in the room. On the web site the only options are # rooms, # guests and the accompanying charge was correct. Why the confusion at the hotel? There appears to be a problem here that should be addressed. The staff member politely and efficiently corrected the invoice but somehow in the process there was still $1 in excess of the initial charge. I did not want to spend more time on this so I let it go. However, something needs your attention.

We stayed at this hotel on a Sunday night & then Tuesday to Friday. On Sunday, the room was great, but when cooling came on it blew cold, but when the cooling was off, it became too warm. The three night stay was better as we were given the handicap room and the air did not blow directly on us which made it much better for sleeping.
The rooms are very large and comfortable and only lack a humidifier as it gets VERY dry...don't all hotel rooms....
Something is wrong with their TV supplier and stations. Could not get the Senators( the local hockey team in a tight race) one night and only in French another and the TV picture goes off and on with action (such as hockey).
All in all, a very comfortable room in an above average hotel.
