Central to all that I need, clean spacious rooms, free breakfast is a bonus and no creaky wooden floors like with some of their competitors! I stay in a lot of hotels/motels throughout the year, and there's nothing worse that having people on the floors above you stampeding around on creaky floors. Especially late at night. Front desk personell are fabulous. Every time I stay, they are super friendly and helpful with suggestions for local eateries, etc. Love the fresh daily cookies as well! This is my choice when I come to the Ottawa area. April 23, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Non-compliant If you choose to stay at this property and anticipate the "normal" Priority Club trappings you will be displeased. They do not adhere to the "gurantee of booking a room within 72 hours" in fact, the desk person said "We don't do that here anymore". Second, they claim an inability to deliver the morning newspaper to your door given too many people were stealing the papers. Rubbish, I have stayed at HI for years and never had a paper stolen - ever! Is there a major Globe and Mail crime wave in Ottawa...methinks its an inconvenience with staffing issues. Staff seem uncomfortable with the forced message/greeting (one desk clerk looked at me standing in line and turned his back and left the office, I caught his gaze, shrugged my shoulders and he laughed...me too!) and the wax smiles but underneath the perfunctory presentation is a hotel that gives mediocre service at best. I guess its an Express, my standards are too high as opposed to theirs. April 21, 2013
