The staff was very friendly and helpful - Kudos to Becci - and the breakfast differed daily. The room was comfortable and the bed & pillows allowed me a great night's sleep. The property is located very near a variety of restaurants and shops. The only (minor) thing is that there is only one elevator for 4 floors and a few times the wait seemed longer than average. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by OK While on vacation we stayed at several Holiday Inn Expresses. We found the rates varied greatly from place to place - in a state like Kansas we thought we would get a lower rate than some of the HI's that were close to major attractions. Our rate at this HI was a little higher than others. We were told one price but when I checked our bank online we saw that we had been charged $25 more than we were told....when I complained I was told it was a 'holding fee' (just in case there were issues, purchases, etc) and would be returned at end of stay. We had NEVER had this happen before and no one had mentioned it prior to billing it. After I complained I checked our online account again and the $25 had been reversed. Were we going to be overcharged if I had not complained? Was someone trying to pull a fast one on us? July 30, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Happy Place I have never stayed in a hotel where the entire staff - housekeeping, janitorial, breakfast staff, and of course the check in and check out staff - were all so friendly, smiling, offering to help, remembering your name, filling up your coffee cup, willing to chat - I was gratefully amazed! Not enough good things can be said about the staff at this hotel. Nancy July 23, 2014
